Good first try, keep on!
I've actually enjoyed the game!
It wasn't obvious but curiosity was rewarded.
So it's an idle game where you're develop your city but growing colorful buildings!
I would like more interaction juice. Like reaction on click or hovering buildings.
It might help to keep attention while waiting. Also, I would speed up the whole process for a little to make it more engaging. In idle games that fun were you're moving slowly and then gather so much can be long but for a game jam the length of the game should be pretty small to hit.
Overall, good job!
And don't forget to check other submissions too!
I like the idea but, its very confusing what i have to do, its a bit unclear.
I'll do my best to not sound harsh, I will also assume you are relatively new to game designing (if you are, just having create this game is an accomplishment!) but I have to be objective when rating this game.
The game-mechanics are pressing buttons on top of towers to gain points of that color, the first one is automatic the rest requires the previous tower's resource. Those mechanics are very simple and to me they don't create a fun game play, there's nothing to immerse myself into, nor does there seem to be any meaningful reason to get to the last color because I can't use the resources for anything other than to gain more resources. If you could actually use the resources on some other game-mechancis I think the game could be more fun and meaningful.
Yes, this is my first game jam and I was the only person who worked on the gameplay. First 3D game as well and I ran into many problems I was not happy with, I was gonna add moving cars and try to go for a more zen city building aspect with more decorations and better looking UI/everything.
Not quite an artist and I was running into a lot of time consuming problems, super appreciate the feedback.
(Don't think this one even makes the resume.)
In that case, congrats for having made a game! You've already come far by just attending to AND delivering a game here :D! So well done! Keep up the game designing, and please keep working on this game, I would love to see more polish :) Maybe the cars are something you can buy using the reources you gain from the buildings? Which will give you some other points each time the cars drive past something (just throwing ideas out here for you) :D
