Good idea here,

Didn't really get the idea of cards wich you chose wizard or ranger for example, maybe i didn't play mych to see what it really do,

It seems the IA is really easy to kill, i don't know how much time it take but i know it's a lot to make a really good IA so it's not really a bad point for me.

I've got some things to say about the sound since i see you did the sound of your game,

Your music doesn't loop well, intro, card selection or combat,
With a very repetitive theme for the fight (maybe i didn't play much to hear an other fight music)

Be careful with click in the sound (i don't know if it's the good word for this in english)
Your sound for the dialogue create a lot of click, maybe if you allow a little fade-in/fade-out it can clear this problem.

Good concept, i think a post-jam could be cool.

I see Inscryption inspiration, which I love. Unfortunately, after my first successful combat encounter, being teleported to the incorrect room was a bug I couldn't avoid, even after restarting. Though, it was fun to walk around and get a better look at the Death model, haha.

Although I only fought one enemy, I find it a shame that some options seem to be objectively better than others. For example, one of the two champion cards always had higher numbers than the other, so it didn't seem like much of a choice.

The premise and presentation were very promising, so I hope the bug gets fixed in the future.

Thanks for checking out the game! Just uploaded a quick fix if you want to check it out. We didn't have time for balancing so if we work on the game in the future that definitely would be high up on the list. I think the idea was to have an limited amount of card options so you would want to be strategic if you really needed the better card that round.

I really loved the art-style and gameplay of this entry. The aesthetic is really good !! Great work overall for a 48 hour game jam !!

I quite enjoyed the small world-building of this game. The mechanics however were a bit clunky for combat. I spawned once in a near pitch black room with no enemies and no clear action of what to do :/ As far as player progression, I think it'd be nice to have a single character that we're growing instead of getting a new character each room (which I think was happening). And finally, while I KNOW that D&D involves dice, we didn't get to see any in this game! The visual effect of rolling for the cards or for the room selection would really tie things together nicely.

The subtitles go by a little too quickly when you have to choose a card, and I ran into the same bug you described in another comment despite trying it out two times :( I'll give it another try later.

Other than that, there's a nice and heavy atmosphere - it's obviously inspired by Inscryption, but I'm glad to see games try to do something new with that concept.

Thanks for the feedback! Sadly, we think it's an issue with WebGL versus the Unity Player. You can check out the full flow on the YouTube video,

My first impression was "why can't I skip the intro" then i was like "oh! it's kind of like inscryption!" then i was put in a very dark room and i didn't know how to get out. Could have been my fault, but I ran around the room and exhausted all my inputs so...

Developer

Sorry you ran into issues! There is a bug where sometimes the player character is spawned in an incorrect position, it's supposed to drop you into the Arena area instead.

I'll retry and re-review. Thanks for letting me know!

Okay I tried a few times with a few different characters. while the debuffs work. It continues to spawn me in the same room with the mage class even if I choose otherwise.

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to check it out again. Sadly we didn't have time to implement combat for each class, they just affect your stats (damage, attack speed, movement speed, health).
