To be entirely honest, I struggled with this. I love the turn based strategy genre, and I got real x-com vibes from this. From our chat I know this went a little over scope, and I can really see the potential here if you just had a bit more time to implement everything you wanted to.

Alas, we had a loss of about 4 hours of UI code due to the heatwave causing a powercut, which is why the UI is so off. :( I actually kinda wanna continue this one into an actual project, it was a lot of fun to develop, and it's got so much potential. <3

functions more like an engine/tech demo than an actual game, but its alright. not really sure how well it fits the theme though

Amazingly ambitious!  It has a way to go to be fully playable, but this is one hell of a start.  Congrats!

Very ambitious game! I enjoyed playing it.

Here are a few things for the critique side:

  • BUG: enemies try to attack dead characters. In fact, it could have been the only reason why I managed to kill all the demons - they were simply not interested in my alive characters, haha
  • Because of the lack of animation/game feedback, I was slightly confused about whether I actually attack demons or not. It was only after I accidentally killed one when I realized that I deal damage even though it's unnoticeable
  • SFX could do a good job in adding atmosphere to the game
  • Idle animation is jittering

Great stuff:

  • I like this genre of games (3D cell-based turn-based tactical shooters), and it was a delight to see someone make it for a jam

Great job! Congrats on making a game for the jam!

Took a bit long to load, but that's to be expected with such an amazingly ambitious game! Holy cow, it's crazy to think you guys made this in just 48 hours! What an achievement!
