This game is really cool! I wish there was a bit less rng, as the cool abilities can't be utilized to their fullest potential, but it's still a fun andd cool game!

Developer

Thank you! There's a protection for the rolls to not repeat too much, but maybe that could be changed.

Fun use of theme. I like all of the power ups. Bug: I got stuck in some geometry and couldn't get out. Nice pixel art. The dice with waling legs is really charming. I think music an sound effects would really enhance the experience of the game. Good job.

Thank you i'm glad you enjoyed it! the bug was was sadly something I couldn't fix on time.

I think this is one of the best entries that implemented randomness in mechancis.. i really liked that moment when i got 6 and and then a random 4 and just landed between two spikes.. it was crazy yet so fun!

sometimes it stucks idk why (lets say its random) :D ..

very simple and nice art style but yet its to the point. good job.. liked it! ^^ good luck

Developer

Thank you so much, the comment made me really happy.  Sorry about the floor stuck issue, I couldn't solve it on time.

I think having the movement effects trigger on your next jump rather than on a timer would've made the game feel a bit more controllable. I liked the variety of effects, but I think your level design perhaps didn't show them off as much as it could have. I was enjoying going through the tutorial and getting the hang of all the effects, but when the level actually started it felt like a completely different vibe - I think because I wasn't really expecting the time pressure of the incoming boulder. Love the sassy little walk cycle on the dice character though! There's something about that character's design that found very charming.

Developer

Thanks, and you are completely right. I had to rush the level design because I was running out of time, hopefully I'll get to revisit it in a few weeks.

Really creative concept! I love that you are the dice that is rolling! I also really like the simple art style! very nice execution and great game. Good job!

Thank you :) glad you enjoyed it!

I like the idea of rolling when you jump, unfortunately i got clipped into the ground and had to restart. So some polishing would go a long way, but still nice!

Developer

Thanks, I will update it after the whole voting is done!

I liked the power on side four! It always either screwed me up terribly or it helped me a lot! Unfortunately, my movement broke on multiple occasions, and I had to restart to get it to work again.

Developer

Yeah sorry about that, I couldn't catch what was causing that bug on time :/

Hm, I think there are some glitches with the floor right? It should work this way that You jump, the dice roll, and when landing it stops rolling and selects the power up?

I am asking if I am doing something wrong

Submitted

Excellent Idea, I love how you managed to use the dice for different powerups

Developer(+1)

Thanks! hopefully I'll get to polish it in the not so far future.

I like the visuals of the character. And the gameplay seems to have some potential. But I feel like it can be a little bit frustrating to have no controls of wich face you re gonna end up (kind of the point though I guess)

Developer

Thanks and yes, that was kind of the point hehe

The gameplay mechanics are fun! Good job.
I also managed to crash the game! :D

Developer

Thanks, and that's interesting, i found a couple of glitches but never crashed it haha

One of the best "get a random power"  games I've played in the jam so far. The power set was diverse and interesting and I was pleasantly surprised to often find myself often wrestling *with* certain powers like the long jump instead of everything always being helpful. It made the game very engaging as I always had to be ready. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed them :)

I must say it's an interesting game! I would have loved to see it more finished :)

Developer

Thanks! If I have some free time in the following weeks I would definitely love to add more content/features to it.

I reached past the part where a lot of people were complaining a glitch was. I got stuck on the floor, but I won't use it against the rating, I'll base it on what I've seen.

Overall the game was pretty unique, this is the first platformer I'm playing! Having powers for your dice "roll" was pretty interesting and I can see it work for some puzzle games. It definitely works better than quite a few other dicerolling puzzle games I've played.

The art is also really nice, I would have hoped for some music/sfx too.

The mechanics were functional and quite fun to move around with, but the lack of game juice is really showing, since a lot of the time I never know if I took damage or if my bullets are even doing damage in the first place until the enemy just instantaneously disappears.

Overall I'd say the game is alright, good effort

Developer

Thanks for the comments!  and yeah I wish I could've added some more content.

I can't get this to run.  It sits stuck on the unity loading screen.

really fun to play! (i did encounter a glitch where i'd get stuck though)

Developer(+1)

Thanks, and yeah I couldn't figure out on time what was causing it.
