I will not lie I like going fast, but the purpose of it was vague.
The purpose of going fast is going fast! Seriously though it would've been more useful with a better calibrated/designed combat system (to evade enemies, get behind the enemy ships, etc.), something I, unfortunately, didn't have time for.
I'll keep that in mind, thanks for your feedback.
The movement felt a bit unrealistic since you start moving at full speed immediately and stop abruptly, instead of accelerating and decelerating. A bit of UI to tell you your health would be good as well.
The ui that tells your initial health (and the rest of the stats) is in the start menu because I couldn't get it working during gameplay the way I wanted to. And I'll consider the thing with the acceleration. Thanks for your feedback!
I noticed that there was an error message with the player, it didn't seem to effect my ship's health at all when I was hit, no matter how many times. This could be a very fun game if there were more enemies and a way to see the stats during the gameplay. Still a pretty fun game though!
At first, the plan was to make the stats visible during gameplay, but I couldn't make the UI work as intended, and since I was running out of time, I opted for a cheap solution. And for the bug, I might look into it if I decide to revisit this game and improve it. Thanks for the feedback!
Needs more work!
Definitely, but I'm still pretty happy that I managed to submit at least something in time, especially considering that this is my first game jame and also that I was lacking the expresence needed to achieve more in the given time period.
It's a nice achievement nonetheless! It's incredibly hard to create an entire game in 48 hours, let alone without much experience.
Well done that you got it running!
