Interesting game! On my first attempt, I had missed the part where it said "Enemies only move when you do" and I was quickly overwhelmed; on my second playthrough I learned to stall and understand each enemy before approaching, and it was an easy victory. I think most of what needs improved is probably obvious, but one thing I want to suggest is to *please* never put white text on a light-grey background again lol. Also, were the spell abilities actually different, or only different visually?

Thanks for the feedback! I will do my best to not make any unholy combinations like that again, but I don't have the eye for such things--so no promises! The visual changes were representative of what dice size was being used at the time--first change at 1d10 damage, second at 1d20. In hindsight, probably did the order backwards, and definitely should have had more indicators, but at least I know what to put in next time.

That’s and … interesting way of distributing the game.

This has some decent music!

I think the basic idea is fine, but having to restart the entire game on death, then sitting through the text, while a couple of unfortunate die rolls can kill you, takes some of the enjoyment out of it.

Initially I missed that baddies only move when you do. That makes it a lot more manageable! It’s somewhat fun to puzzle out opponents movement patterns then at least :-)

(Just in case you didn’t: Did you know you can just search for sound effects generator on google and you’ll find a couple of good ones like jsfxr or chiptone?)

Thanks for the feedback! Definitely could have packaged it better, something I will be sure to do next time. I'm glad the music worked in spite of the wonderful recording quality... When you put restarting like that, definitely should have put all that in it's own menu. Good to hear you figured out the puzzle nature and it worked for you though! Thanks for the tip, I tried making sound effects myself but wasn't able to get any to a state I was happy with so that fell by the wayside. It will be nice to have a backup plan in the future!

Pretty interesting game. I think that the instruction text could have been in  a better color as I could barely see it and it scrolled by too fast. The animations looked great and did like the turn-based mechanics of movement. I didn't get what the number associated with Dice was though.

Thanks for the feedback! Conveying information is definitely something I need to work on. I'm glad the movement landed for you though

I couldn't get it to run :(

Did you have the .pck file in the same folder as your executable of choice? I messed up on packaging so there is an extra step here unfortunately

I like the idea but the game is a bit confusing. It's hard to anticipate enemy attacks, and what effect comes from where. As I said I still think the idea is fun, with a little more work it could be really nice!

Thanks for the feedback! There are supposed to be indicators for most of the effects, but they have a very spotty track record with their current implementation... Definitely something I need to work on.
