This is quite a densly packed game for such a short amount of time! It's really fun and I like the art! Awesome Job!

Really nice artstyle! Nice game, good job!

Amazing game! Surprised at how much content was made in 48 hours.

Great game! Love seeing some JS games in these jams! Definitely agree with the previous comments that the Star Duo is a huge step up in difficulty, but such balance problems are expected in 48 hour game jams. A unique take on the jam theme too!

Quite a complex battle system for such a short time. Its made in pure js? vn

The items, the systems all of this looks like huge job. And the game's good too.

I feel like people use too little invention from Slay the Spire - show at the very start what CPU will do - this would allow it to be more nasty, and player to better strategize against it.

And yeah the fox died

Thank you, and yes, it is pure js. (well, +html/css of course)

And I'll need to take a look at Slay the Spire in that regard, it sounds interesting.

i like the amount of content there is here. I always love jam games that you can play for more than like a min before you move on. I was curious to continue and see what other foes and mechanics i would come across

Very good! Love the ideas in here, really wonderful! Would love it if the healer wasn't so frail hahahaha. Great job!

I played this for a good ten or so minutes. Love the concept and how much you built in such a short time. Ran into the Jupiter duo and got utterly destroyed by the difficulty spike. Not sure what I could have done better, but all in all a fantastic jam showing.

Developer

That fight is the sole reason for why the game gives you two items per fight. I made it way too hard, then tried to mitigate that by giving the player more stuff without noticing that if you're not taking pretty much the exact items I was always taking during playtesting (shouldn't have done that) it didn't actually get that much easier. But even then it was still a hard fight.

This is a very impressive and well thought out RPG! I love the various equippable modifiers, even if it is sometimes unclear which ones should work together! Is it simply not possible to level up the healer? Feels very fragile as the game goes on.

Developer

Yea. The entire level up system was a last minute addition and I didn't have time to think about how it should work for the healer. (That's also why it's nowhere to be seen on the inventory screen.)

The balance was interesting for this game, definitely had a lot of stalemates and kinda not-great feeling things (e.g. Shadow Testmen are cool in theory but their defence dice feels unfair in this kind of game). The random rolling mechanics are actually addressed quite well here, ESPECIALLY with the minion system (which I explored greatly in the game, even though I really don't think that was the purpose of having them), as when you are in a tough fight and you manage to summon 7 minions in a row it feels AMAZING. Pure TTRPG moment, which a lot of games that involve randomness kinda struggle to bring that rush.

Hope you make more/make something bigger out of this! Maybe to give the Healer some depth, having them target an enemy could reduce their next attack/defence dice by a set number the Healer rolls. Would love to see more!!

I really enjoyed this game. Everything needs explained a bit more and everything needs some polish but I am really excited to see this game fixed up a bit.

Really fun, all the art is really good, could have done with music and sound effects.

Really love the gameplay, the game is just a bit weirdly balanced as it is too easy for a long time, then suddenly becomes very difficult.

Overall amazing job!

Solid little RPG :) Pretty sophisticated for a jam game, even. I got as far as the Star Duo.

Enemies healer: heals full hp every round.
Your healer: heals for 2 hp every single time ^^"

Besides that, nice one! Definitely needs more characters, but it's already something!

Truly impressive, the game play starts simple but does get more intresting. could have more effects.

Developer

I definitely wanted to have more effects and characters but 48 hours are 48 hours.

The game has potential and the items add a bit of strategy but the gameplay is still a bit shallow and adding some music or sound effects would definitely make the experience more enjoyable.

Still, good job, keep at it!
