Clever take on the theme! Controls felt a bit off and the main mechanic was a little cumbersome. It would be great if I didn't have to reroll after every attack.

Solid overall!

Thanks for playing! Sorry about the controls. About the mechanics, for a full game we're going to think of something more consistent, less random and less frustrating. Thanks for the feedback.

Cool game idea, the movement and attacking feels nice even though the controls are unusual. Pretty easy once I figured it out. Sound effects and music would be nice. Btw, I don't think asking people to use an external app for a game jam game will work.

Sorry about the controls. I agree they could be better, just wanted to suggest an alternative using an external app to improve the experience. But please, rate the game without considering this.

Thanks for playing!

Really cool idea!! The controls are somewhat hard to get used to, but when I figured it out it worked just fine. Some music would be nice, but fun game though. :))))

Thank you, I recommend using the "xpadder" app to have a better experience when playing our game. Maybe put a playlist in the background so you don't play without sound too.

Fun game, unoriginal idea, really liked the art!

Why 'unoriginal'? Tell me a game from this jam that you thought was more original. Anyway, thanks for the compliment, I was responsible for the art of this game :3

Fun game, had to get used to the movement and attack buttons, but after I while I could beat it. Good work

Thanks for playing our game! You can take a look at our latest submissions to itch.io if you're interested. If you have a controller, I recommend using the "xppader" app to map your keyboard and play with whatever settings you want.

Its a funny idea, maybe a bit more fun with some "advanced" dice with poison, burn or  shield  mechanics.

The controls were a bit confusing at the beginning but after a short play time fine for me.
Some music would be great too.

Wow, cool idea! Our first idea was to have more playable characters, with different types of attacks. But we didn't think about different effects for the data, it's certainly something that we can apply in the future.  You can take a look at our latest submissions to itch.io if you're interested. If you have a controller, I recommend using the "xppader" app to map your keyboard and play with whatever settings you want. The latest game has original music!

Interesting idea, but the hitboxes seem a bit unfair and the fact that when you are cornered you almost have to take a hit is just frustrating.
Also, it would be nice to have controls that take into account a wider range of keyboard layouts because on an AZERTY keyboard, the keys for the actions really don't feel good.

I believe the dash has I-frames, so is not thaat unfair, but yes, the controls are kinda hard to get used to.

Cool idea ! However the jump not being on up or space makes it really hard to use for me

Very hard even with the dice rolling damage mechanic; it is easy to miss your swing and lose it.
FYI I found a bug to get infinite I-frames which made it easier but took the fun out (attack while dashing).

I did like the game though some more guidance in game and some character movement/attack improvements could improve this a lot.

I agree with you! The mechanics of the data could have been better explained. But we did all this in a short time, we worked more on Sunday than on other days. But thanks, we will think of better solutions next time.
