Neat idea! I included it in my Game Maker Toolkit’s Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Ah awkward! Didn't see that I had played it prior. AWKWARD.

Neat concept that is well executed. Only issue I had was that the first time I booted it up, I couldn't resize the window at all and had to reboot the game and try again.

Really cool idea! Got stuck in level 3 since extending window down too much caused it to go under the taskbar (I'm on Windows 10) and dragging the game window caused it to resize, making my character disappear when I extend the window back to normal. Chill music, simple visuals, and nice jumping feedback.

Oooo... That doesn't sound good D:

But thanks for playing! Makes my day man!

To be clear, when it resized, it snapped back to only showing the text "Level 3" (Top half of the screen while staying wide in width). Hope that helps you replicate it to fix if you're still working on it. And of course, I enjoyed it!

Thanks for taking the time to both playing the game as well as including it in your video! Much appreciated (:

This is a pretty neat concept. I always find games that mess around with the operating system intriguing. Though the mechanic isn't really given time to mature in this short experience, it's still pretty cool to mess around with nonetheless. Great job!

Submitted

But ? But ? It's to short !!! I want more !!! There's so much more to do with such a mechanic !!!

Submitted

Wow that was amazing!  I just wish it was longer!

I've seen this done a few times already, but I do like to see what can be done with the mechanic. I really like the music used for this game, "Near and Far". I preferred using WASD for my controls, but going through the door was only coded for the Arrows/Space movement keys without input from W. Neat game, nonetheless.

Interesting take on this concept, although windowframe is the name that gets dropped.

Very cool mechanic! While it's true it's not the first game to use it, it still feels fresh, and gives an unusual way to play.

Submitted

This is basically windowframe done worse.

Ouch..

I like the game, the puzzles were very fun. But I just feel like you did everything mongore did in his game for ludom dare :/

Developer

So I haven't played his game but I've heard a lot of people saying it's sort of similar yet different.

Thanks for playing!

Really cool idea, very innovative. Would've loved to have played a few more levels. Nice job :)

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah, time got the best of me and I opted to rather a fun and quick game than a longer, more "meh" game.

Cute game! Very unique mechanic, and great pixel art. The only issue is the jankiness of the mechanic itself - some users with smaller screens may not get to experience the game fully, and one has to refocus the window to continue to control the avatar, but that's more of an issue with the way that resizing works rather than with the game itself. Well done!

Developer

Thanks! Haha Yeah I learned that making a game tied to a OS function might not always be the best of ideas but it was intresting to make.

Excellent!

Thank you so much!
