In "Roaring Streets", every mechanic can be controlled through the player's turn based movement. Move to evade enemies, or move into enemies to shoot them. But with every move, the game cycles through your inventory of weapons, forcing you to have to balance evasion, attacks, and gun types within a single movement. The movement mechanic serves a triple purpose!

Wow! What an awesome idea!

*Wonderfull* game! I included it in my Game Maker Toolkit’s Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

This game is absolutely amazing! It really goes to show how much of an untapped well turn based gameplay is. Linking weapon swaps to movement is a decision that made me have to think a few turns ahead as opposed to relying on reacting to situations as they come. The little dance you have to do to get into opposition with the enemies reminds me of a good game of chess. Not to mention that the audiovisual presentation is great as well. What a fantastic game!

The music reminds me of the Pink Panther theme song. I bet it's the smooth jazz. I really liked the mechanics of the game, having the switch different guns to kill different enemies. My one issue is that for white pistol with an attack range of 1, it sometimes kills the white ghosts and sometimes doesn't, resulting in a death. I'm not sure if it's something I'm not doing right or if it's a glitch. But, I'd work on making that a little more clear.

If I remember it correctly, the white ghosts move once every 2 moves of yours. It's indicated similarly as in The Crypt of the Necrodancer by their pose - In one phase, they 'lean backward and open their mouth, the second phase they jump = attack. So you have to time your jumps/movement next to them according to it and move next to them when they are not about to jump in the same 'move'.

Definitely one of the best serving the dual purpose theme all the way. The music serves the detective role play well.

Amazing work! Tying all the animations to the movement was simply beautiful! Really fun game! I hope you expand on it!

This is the best game I have come across in the jam so far. Excellent job on the look, the sounds, and the game play. I love it. This really ought to be worked on further!

MOAR! I want more! Please tell me you have plans to make this a full game!

Great game, beautifully tied together elements of puzzle as well as strategy.  A beautiful theme alongside  it give a great game.
