Similar experience to some others, was expecting a jump scare or something to happen with the pumpkin, then suddenly was falling through the world! If not for night time, felt like it was a demo of moving into a new house before all your furniture is there. Good luck working on a game mechanic, definitely some potential here.

You've got good 3D graphics here, well done! I opened a door that apparently led to outside the house, but as I stepped out I just fell onto the infinite abyss below, as there was actually no ground outside the house, had to restart the game. Normally, I would say that the lack of music hurts most games here, but your game is an exception. The lack of music just made it a little bit more spookier. The house had a very weird maze-like "wrong" architecture. Rooms were empty, not even tables, chairs, rugs... There was nothing to see anywhere. Nothing was moving, no one other than you was in the house, no ambient sound, no crickets, no sound of your own footsteps or even your shadow, nothing. The silence was deafening, everything about the house felt wrong. I was expecting a jump scare, not gonna lie. But it all kinda fell flat when I approached the pumpkin and the game ended suddenly and I was reminded that this was a game jam. I couldn't tell if all of those things I described were intentional or if they were all a happy accident caused by the lack of time and resources to finish the game. Anyway, I think you got something that could be improved upon with some work. Maybe the more sound effects, lighting and ambiance could go a long way on improve atmosphere. Right now, it felt like those creepy old source engine maps, which is a completely different can of worms that I'm not sure was the exact thing you were going for with this game. Well done, though!

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm aware of the doors, I  left them that  way since I may decide to add some outdoor scene in the future, maybe in a forest .  I wasn't intending to add jump scares. Lack of time was the reason the house is incomplete but my intentions were to isolate the player, I'm trying to experiment with creative horror mechanics(may as well think about the weird maze-like architecture, is a good suggestion). Well the game was meant for the game jam but I've decided to continue working on it. At least to fully complete something once. So you may expect an update with most all the good things you mentioned maybe in  2 - 3 months time. I will be fully working on the game only the next two months, but the game wont be complete by then, I'm sure I will need more reviews before I can call it a final release.

A good concept for a Halloween game !
The 3D impressed me, the house has plenty of different rooms.

I like the door opening mechanic and the sound effect.
I recommend you to add more objects/details to each room.
Also an ambient music and more sfx (walking...)  would help to create a stressful environment !

Also adding something threatening the player would add a lot of fun !
Congrats.

Thanks for the suggestions, they will be added on the next update. Probably before mid December. currently Its exam period so I'm busy with school now. You may also expect a story line, I got a friend who good with story telling who's interested in writing one for the game.

I'm hoping to hear your feedback after the update.

Interesting start of something. would have been nice to see the house looking more like it was lived in and less like a model home you are walking through to purchase. Don't really understand the reason behind searching for a pumpkin, but the graphics look really nice!

The pumpkin randomly spawns inside the house and changes its spawn point at random times. Had to add something to match the theme, I will be continuing working on this project. You my come back later after the jam for future updates.

Thanks for the review ;-)
