I really enjoyed the direction of this - with some polish it could be really fun! Thank you so much for your entry into the jam!! Cheers!
I really like the story hook of this game. Clear goal and interesting. It was a bit confusing at first, it took me a couple minutes to realize I had to click on the statue to get a 'weapon' so I would just walk around and couldn't kill the ghosts, would get stuck and die. The art on the game itself looks very cute, but the thumbnail and title screen could use more polish in order to match the quality of the artwork in the game. I'm unsure how this game fits the theme of the jam. Overall very nice game with a lot of potential!
Thank you for the feedback! How I implemented the theme... It's based on what item you choose... Depending on the item, the ending changes. Lantern makes daughter bigger, laser, makes her smaller... It's a twist from a folk story, the lost axe of the lumberjack. You're right though, I kinda got lost at where to fit the theme in
I see, I didn’t realize that! Thank you for explaining
Every click moves timer for 12 minutes, and as you have time up until the morning its very hard to "kill" ghosts and move around. You need 3 hits to kill ghost and it ~36 minutes or even 48 as these mf block your path.
I couldn't find my daughter.
Maybe you could try to find her for a few nights?
Actually, this game doesnt meant for you to kill those ghosts lol... You have to avoid the ghosts around. And yes, the timer moves as you click, but you could just click to the exit and before you know it, you're done. And you'll see how the theme is implemented... Anyway, thanks for the feedback!
The art is pretty nice and I like that it has a bit of a story! However, I had a lot of trouble getting the character to move and the sound effects were super loud; they almost jumpscared me.
Thank you! I'm ashamed to say for a fact that I simply disregarded the audio and sounds... I got a bit heated and I just submitted the thing! Next time, I'll put music to it's rightful place...
