What a great concept for a game! I can't believe you did this in such a short space of time. The stories had a really nice feel (like parables), which worked really well with the art and the atmosphere. Wonderful music too. One thing I would say - the part in which the mother decides to throw her baby away felt a bit like a dark comedy compared with the others (not sure this was your intention - I also appreciate how difficult it is to perfect stories during a jam - I certainly struggle with this).

I really do hope you expand on this. It's such a wonderful idea. Like a story-puzzle. If you do, I imagine the stories may be bigger, in which case, perhaps a journal/quest system might be useful for the player. And an easier way to dip in and out of each story. I did find it a little difficult to remember which book was which story and also to plan out how I wanted to fix the story.

Really fantastic job on this beautiful game! Well done.

Thanks! An easier way to jump into would really come in handy, I felt that while testing myself as well.

Real nice game! First i didn't think it was much to the game but then I got sucked into the books and it took me by surprise, this game has a lot of potential and fun to see a unique art style as well.

Cool artwork! It has some kind of claymation vibe to it, what I really like. The stories are odd, but I mean the good kind of odd. I like it!

a really interesting and unique game, the controls are a little bit confusing. And some of the pages actually continue behind the side walls which kind of wastes the players time. I still really enjoyed it.

would you mind showing what is "page continue behind the side walls"? sounds like a bug I never got to see so I don't know how to fix it. But thanks for playing!

I don't think it is a bug, it's on the page with farmer and his son lying on bed. You need to go past the right wall to reach the healer.

Developer

Yeah, when the wall is yellow it's a connection between books. I couldn't figure a good way to put this without giving it away too obviously

Just finished the game, I really enjoyed it. It had a really neat idea that I think is suitable if you ever plan to make this game bigger.

I think this will only be a good game if it is redone to be a big game, like, hours of gameplay and many months of making. When I had the idea and started working on it, I had in mind to have all the pages with a lot of interaction inside, like the first one where you release the horse yourself, or bring the baby, etc. I had zero maps done until saturday, so I was forced to replace everything by just "visit and talk" so I could make 31 pages in 1.5 days.

I'm all ears to the ideas. (Well, this is written communication so I'm all "eyes" :P)
