It's a good classical platformer with solid mechanics and textures. I felt a bit overpowered using jumps, since the jump height is unexpectedly high.

Developer

I'm making the jump a tiny bit shorter in the next patch but the levels would have to be redesigned if I made it any more so.

The platforming was good. The art gave it a simplistic style.

The movement from left-right felt a bit hard to be precise. Often causing me to die. Some audio would have been nice to listen to as I killed the minions. Giving some objective or making it clear that you need to collect some items to advance would have been helpful. I thought I was stuck in the second level. The game is unforgiving, if you die you restart.

Overall, a nice game.

First of all I didn't think that the art was that good so I appreciate that you and others like it. Second of all I don't mean to sound rude here but may you please give more detail on what you thought about how the left-right felt hard to be precise so I can try and fix it.

Thank you for playing!

About the left-right:

When you jump while moving: if you stop moving towards your initial direction, you still keep going forward. This makes it hard to be precise on where you land as you have to press "left-right" in order to position yourself in the desired spot.

Oh thank you for going on about it in more detail, I can just make the air resistance a bit higher

Congrats on submitting, may this be the first of many jams and games!

Thank you, I hope it is too.

Congrats on submitting!

I would've liked seeing the controls explained on the start screen for example.

Is it correct I loose the ability to shoot in level 2? Also I couldn't kill the enemies by shooting them.

Thank you for your feedback, I will consider your suggestions.

I originally planned for the gun to be the main method of attack but it wouldn't work, so I scrapped it and went to a more Mario-like approach then forgot about it. By, the time I realized that it was in the final build it was too late to re-upload every build so I left it in the notes.
