Fun little game. It was over quick so it would have been nice to have some variation in the gameplay (traps in the middle to lose health?) Good entry anyway.

Simple core loop well executed and matching the theme :) I never go to repair my robot (I read the comments and indeed I never hit the walls). The game was over very quick, it wasn't exactly clear when it ended. I was looking around a little to see if there was more to do, which is a good sign I suppose :)

Thanks for playing!

It was my second jam and my focus was finishing an actual playable game. Agree it lacks content.

Let's keep it simple: It hooked me.
I like the simple but effective game mechanic of collecting items with time preassure and spending money to upgrade the rover. It nails 'lost tech' for me.
Despite that i experienced a lag once the rover gained maximum speed, but that might be just me and my browser.

I really really enjoyed this game, I found myself playing it until I maxed out all of the upgrades! Very simple yet still engaging gameplay! I will say though that I never actually lost, maybe I'm a pro gamer lol but perhaps the difficulty could be increased a bit, overall though solid work!

Developer (1 edit)

you ARE a pro gamer!  Dying  is very difficult you have to bang in to the walls 5 times and not repair to die xD I just didn't have the time to create a more interesting level.

Thanks for playing!

This game was very fun, however it was rather short. I would recommend expanding the map, adding more options, or making upgrades scale in price. I would have liked it if there were arrow key controls, since I usually end up using those rather than WASD. There were two of the icons which looked extremely similar, which makes it hard to differentiate between them. Great game! Well done on finishing!

I agree on having the option of playing either wasd or arrow keys, it's just hard adding features when you're struggeling to get the base game done :D but that's why I do these jams, I want to become more proficient in Godot.

Yeah the video tape and cassette looked very similar, but atleast I drew all the art myself :D I'm proud haha

Thanks again.

Maybe I missed something, but was there a way to lose?  I got 8 levels and all upgrades never seeing any losing condition.  I'd recommend having the items not overlap each other when spawning.  Made it hard to see what was really there.  Congrats on your submission.

Thanks for playing the game!

You've missed it, but to be fair I didn't get to implementing the level(s) the way I wanted. So the way to die is hitting the walls more than your health bar has bars left... That's why you can buy repairs, but it's so simple to just no hit the walls :D

The items spawning is just a time restiction thing, I new about it, but never got around to fixing it.

Love the game. The scaling and upgrades system can be improved though because at the moment, you can finish the game by only repeatedly doing 1 bounty over and over. Other than that, it's a decent game. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing the game!

I'm not sure what you mean by winning the game by repeating 1 bounty, there is no real win condition other then when you've completed all 8 bounties you get a message saying just that.

I totally agree that the "difficulty" scaling is off, I'm happy I managed to get everything functional and in place.

Again thanks for playing and leaving feedback!
