I think the grass grows a bit too quickly so I had a hard time.
The controls felt a bit strange with the isometric view but I'm not sure how to improve it.

The graphics were pretty cool! I really liked them.

Developer

Thanks for playing! The grass can get out of control, especially if it's raining. What didn't you like about the controls? They became normal to be pretty quickly but in the beginning it did seem to be odd. My last game was isometric as well however the controls were more top-down and it too was way off, these are much better but I would love more feedback on the controls if you could.

I simply had trouble wrapping my head around which control go in which direction.  Maybe an idea would be to simply map the controls depending on the actual direction on the screen? (For instance, pressing S and D would make you go down-right and simply S would make you go straight down.) It simply is an idea though, maybe not what you envision for your game. I personally think it would be more intuitive.

Edit: I somehow missed  the part of your response about the controls similar to top-down. I'm guessing this is what I'm talking about. Guess I don't know what the right solution is then. It may actually be fine as is, but is certainly takes some time to get used to.

You can get used to controls pretty quickly working on your own game, I know something about it, most criticism on my game this jam is about unintuitive controls x)

Fits the theme nicely! I like the idea. Seems like the inspector is hard to please, though XD

Developer(+1)

Thanks!!! The Inspector should only require less than 50% of the tiles being overgrown. I put the meters in to help with making sure you make it, though now that I think about it I don't think I mention anywhere how much was needed to pass 😅.

This game gives the same feel of working for a bad manager.  You bust your ass with way too many lawns to mow, and spend your own money upgrading company equipment.  Meanwhile your manager sits around in his truck all day judging you without lifting a finger, sometimes driving upside down with no regard for the laws of man or physics.  10/10 would play again.

So much grass! It grows so fast! Pretty fun to play, though I'm not sure I know what the best strategy is, it felt like I was always behind.

Developer

Honestly it needs done tweaking but if you upgrade your mower to 2/3 you'll be fine and the weed killer is a little OP as it stops all growth for 30seconds after chopped.
