This was fun! I personally enjoyed the zoomed out stationary camera. It allowed me to map out my next move while platforming as fast as possible.
If I had known that people would be so split on the camera issue it might have been cool to be able to switch between zooming in or seeing the whole thing.
I think both implementations are fun in their own way. One feeds the exploratory urges, while the other feeds the speedrunning urges.
It's something to consider for future jams with platformer mechanics.
Great use of theme! The camera could have zoomed in a bit and it would have felt great. Awesome job on the game tho!
nice concept and the adaptation of the theme and the Wildcards! good job!
That was a really cool application of the wildcard, both in terms of the gameplay and the story. Nice work!
Hey I had fun playing this one nice platforming controls :)
I feel the camera was a little too zoomed out so kinda lost the explortation vibe of the caves
I think it was a great idea to have the path back out of the cave and the switch up in gameplay when using green dude who needed water to survive
Yep camera is tricky, and it killed the exploration but we felt like it added more on the gameplay side which was our main focus this time XD
Glad you had fun
Overall the mechanics work great and the art/music go well with it. Design-wise, we're playing a tiny portion of the overall screen. While the art part of me likes this as I see the whole level map, the player part of me would like the camera to be zoomed in more so that the action/play takes up more of the screen. That would also increase the challenge.
There was a bit of debate within the team about choosing between a stationary camera of the whole map, or a camera that follows the player with less of the map visible. There's pro's and cons to either approach though.
Great adventure! I liked the level design and the scale of the level and camera. Great job!
And it's cool that you came up (in description) with additional achievements to entertain the player :)
Thanks, glad you had fun
