congrats on your first participation!
the atmosphere was nice, good job on the graphics and audio! but then, the game felt too chance-based / arbitrary to my taste, and the shop just made me game over without any explanation. making me feel a little confused.
ah yeah the currency on the shop was your lives so i probably should have explained it better on the game over screen
Great art and movement. Some visual indication for the traps even if its small would make it feel less frustrating. Besides that awesome entry
awesome, thank u! :)
Good work with the music and the graphics! maybe you can try to polish some mechanics but it was fun and enjoyable!
thank u so much! :D
Congrats on your entry :) I also found the traps to be more challenging than fun, as Trencher put it. Perhaps some sort of indicator to give you a warning would solve this- or allow the trap to remain broken/used so you don't run into it again after dying. That would let novice players use elimination to figure their way through while still keeping it challenging on more advanced players. They could have a reward for making it through with less death. Great aesthetic and overall feel.
thanks for the feedback! I was planning on making the traps easier to spot but didn't have time since i didn't feel it was a priority but i now realise it was necessary to make the game fun instead of painful.
Challenging game. I enjoyed the music and the game had a very creepy atmosphere.
thanks! :)
Congratulations on your Godot Wild Jam entry! The aesthetics of the game are really well done, and it has a great vibe! The controls were smooth, and the game is visually atmospheric.
My wife and I found memorizing the trap location to be more frustrating than fun, and I think this could have been mitigated with either smaller maps, grid-based movement, or more visual clues as markers or ways to spot traps.
Besides that, well done!
thanks, I was planning on adding bloodstains and other things to show where traps had activated previously but didn't have enough time. but ill defo add them once the jam is over!
