Game Description
A game about platforming your way to a high score by using the beat to your advantage.

How does your game tie into the theme?
I had a reallt hard time with this theme. I chose to try to go for a synonym of Symmetry... Rhythm. Even this was difficult. The levels will move and "pulse" to the beat of the song (as best as I could match the song's BPM). As a player, you just need to survive :D

Took me an embarrassing amount of time to realise I could dash into/through some blocks. My first couple of  seeds gave me seemingly dead-ends 😅.

The background and pulse effects are impressive but I had to turn as much off as I could to concentrate while playing -- personal preference I suppose.

Unique take on the theme though, nice submission!

Developer

Hehe… not embarrassing at all! I spend so much time trying to take care of all the little bugs I often forget to make mechanics clear! Not everyone can read my mind! Lol!

As far as Dash through blocks… that’s actually more of a side effect of using a single raycast to test for collisions at destination. Never got around to having it test to see if the whole player could fit. As a result, Dash can sometimes act as a teleport.

In any case, thank you very much for trying out my game. I’m glad you enjoyed it!!

well done, that was a fun jam game! i'm not sure i properly understood how the dashing / breaking bricks mechanic worked, but overall this was a nice game! :)

(oh also, i think maybe the high score doesn't reset to 0 when you play again?)

Thank you very much for playing my game. I’m glad you enjoyed it! And… damn, I think I recalled seeing the score not resetting. Totally forgot to fix that! :(

This game looks good but it's too big for my screen

Developer

Thank you for trying the game, regardless. I am surprised, however. The game should be setup to scale up or down to the screen. In fact, on my own machine, I consistently ran the game at only half the target resolution of 1920x1080. I’m curious how it was too big? Maybe it’s something I can look out for in future games.

Well, my monitor is zoomed in 125% so maybe that's why?

Developer

Ah… never thought of that. Thanks for the info.

Really good work on the menus, they looked and felt great. The pulsing and flashing graphics is part of the gameplay, but it made it a little difficult to look at and focus.

Great job!

Developer

Honestly, I was worried about the pulsing being an issue for people. You can actually disable and/or reduce the pulsing in the Options menu :D

Thank you VERY much for playing the game! I appreciate it!!
