I like the overall vibe (and the music adds a ton here!). More in-game hints regarding the controls would have been nice: I had to look up the action button (dunno why, but I expected 'E', not 'F'), accidentally quit the game once (since I expected escape to pause the game), then struggled tremendously with moving from the first moving platform to the second (still not sure if one can double jump or have to abuse coyote-time there) and even after finishing the game I don't quite understand how the flight mode works (felt like looking up makes one fly a lot farther?!). Don't want that to come across overly negative, though: I enjoyed your game enough to finish it, after all. Good job! :)

It took me a while to figure out the action button ‘F’, and the powers, but it’s fun, hard but fun, great music, I loved the graphics it reminds me of an old game called XIII that played in my youth (yep I’m old), overall great job, and thanks for the game.

Ps. nooooo direct quit with ESC, crying… (not a big deal, on the first time I was looking for a pause menu with instructions, and accidentally pressed just one time, controls instruction would be nice too)

Developer

thanks for the feedback - definitely noted. we got hit with the buzzer this time and plan to tidy up a bit more for the next one

Took me waaay too long to figure out I could double-jump and then similarly with activating the vampirism. Eventually I read the page and figured it out. Would be nice to have more in-game hints for that sort of thing though.

I was also surprised that (at least on Linux) pressing escape quit the game, which was a bit frustrating because it meant I lost my progress. I kind of wish it wasn’t timed, or at least that the time left was more obvious.

Regardless, I liked the idea of the drinks unlocking additional vampiric powers, and as a result getting stronger as you go. Nice work!

The song was pretty good, it fits the game pretty well.
Did you guys make everything yourself?
Game crashed when I drank the wine some times, not sure why.

Developer

thanks for playing!  JohnnyDebt did the eerie song and i did the arms in blender.  the other models come from Kenney or Quaternius. sfx were originally from freesound.org user craigsmith then played with a bit

the bug is unfortunate and i cant seem to find the cause right now - we'll keep looking into and hope to get fixed after the jam
