Thank you for the feedback!
I did try to incorporate some elements of ethical, environmental, and socioeconomic consideration in the upgrades, even if I might not know how to best explore these topics through the mechanics or environment
Congratulations on your submission! Here are some of my thoughts from playing the game
Aesthetics
- Text is hard to read due to bad spacing and lack of visual hierarchy
- music is great, it really sets a mood
- losing screen is completely unreadable
balance:
- there is only 1 type of enemy, so having different weapon options don't really matter
other:
- making game with Scratch is based
- game lags and very heavy on cpu despite being graphically very simple
Thanks for playing! I've been adding exactly those things to the game just last night. It's a shame we didn't implement them in time for the jam, although I'm happy we manage to scrape together this much for our first jam. I'll be updating the game as soon as we've addressed the main game play issues (assuming the jam ends by then).
I understand your concerns about the gameplay focusing heavily on engaging with terminals and deciphering mechanics. It's important for us to strike a balance between complexity and enjoyment. We'll take your feedback into account as we continue to iterate on the game.
That said, I'm glad you appreciated the effort put into environmental design and special effects. We'll aim to maintain that level of quality while addressing the gameplay aspects you mentioned.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We're committed to delivering the best possible gaming experience, and feedback like yours helps us get there.
