I managed to get to wave 11. The gameplay is simple but actually pretty fun and engaging! It's easy at the beginning but the difficulty ramps up surprisingly fast. One or two more enemies throwing off the usual player strategies could work really well with this.
A minor nitpick: It took a while for me to understand that the lighning bolt was a powerup! I thought it was just a bugged sprite leftover from one of my attacks at first. Making it look a bit different could help, especially since it's arguably the strongest powerup.
Great pixel art for Zeus and the enemies, with a simple but cool gameplay loop. The power ups add a great addition to the game. Good job !
Nice, great start for a first project!
I had an issue, maybe it's just with the web build. When I run the game it opens fullscreen and it seems to throw off the aspect ratio of the game, so Zeus spawns outside the bounds of the map. It makes the enemy behavior a bit wonky as well. There is a way to lock in the aspect ratio/window size for your game so this doesn't happen, I would look into that for your next project, or if you intend to expand this one.
The game was fun though and I liked all the sprites! I also love the idea of Zeus drinking a bunch of coffee and zooming around lol
yeah I’ll try that next time thanks
Was actually quite fun. Best strategy is sit in the middle and don't miss. The enemy spawn rate seems to not get much faster as the levels get higher, so if you don't miss you can fire as fast as they spawn. I think the levels should start out a bit harder though, was really too easy at first. I think that you should make Zeus have hitpoints instead of being insta-dead.
Love the game. Could see it being a project you flesh out in the future with more maps, powerups, and enemies. Great job!
thank you I really wanted to add an option to play as other gods but didn’t know how to do its since I’m new to Godot
