Top notch simple pixel art and good core gameplay loop. As others mentioned, the ghost's unpredictability meant that sometimes I wasn't certain how it would move and why I got hit. This lead to some "cheap feeling" deaths and a difficulty curve that felt a little off.
I know it was probably frustrating for some people, but I liked the obscuring of important things by dark in this case. You left a clear message in the tutorial to look out and search for hidden things, so I was looking. An alienating choice possibly, but I liked it!
Great example of how a simple art style can go big with a little atmosphere! Great job.
Reminded me a bit of Pixel Dungeon and Mystery Dungeon with the turn-based dungeon crawling this had. The slime level was pretty interesting, but the phantom's movements felt pretty random and I it felt pretty messy trying to stay away from it. Also nice usage of the Through the teeth wildcard!
Overall I liked the visuals, the only downside on the visuals was that the contrast was a bit low between some of the enemies and background so it was hard to see. However, I did have fun playing all the way through. It was nice exploring and having to manage your casts and lives.
The grid movement and time only passing at each action definitely felt a little weird in the beginnig but once you get used to it they all make sense. Maybe a little too eerie since sometimes it is not immediate what is going on but overall a very solid game. Good job!
I enjoy games where the time doesn't progress unless the player acts. It was a little confusing to me why I wasn't able to push the ghost away sometimes, but could others. Nice use of text in the game to explain things, though I think I would have enjoyed it more if it was more spread out. Some areas there is a lot of text to read all at once. And the text for the sign posts was challenging to read, though doable. I died before completing my exit
