Cool idea! I included it in my Godot Community Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)
Nice little concept, but it doesn't lead to as many strategies as at first thought; just dodge in the opposite direction you did last time.
Nice use of the theme - great job!
I would love to see what this could become if you put more polish into it. Jam games are great for seeing the spark of a great idea that you can then keep building on. It's a great way to learn more about Godot too! Keep it up!
Hello, thanks for playing!
Sorry for super late reply. I really wanted to thank you for your tutorials on your YouTube channel they helped us a lot. Thanks! :)
Good job on your first godot project. It might be a simple game, but honestly I felt more joy in this game than some of the titles here. Keep up!
If you want to make the game more interesting, consider adding momentum on the slider so that it's always slightly moving towards the edge, even if you're in the middle screen. I was lucky enough to dodge 8 rocks by staying in the middle, and with no temperature penalty, it was easier than you predicted.
Hi thank you for playing the game and giving us important feedback. That is a good idea to make the game more fun and less static (harder), thank you a lot.
We will not make any more changes to the game so it can stay the same throughout the jam (until the rating ends). :p
Great work on your first Godot project! I really like your theme interpretation, it's a fun twist to the otherwise simple gameplay, and makes it challenging.
It would have been nice to have a custom sprite for the player, maybe even animated/modulated to red/blue for temperature, but as a first time user you're excused for use our favourite placeholder, the Godot logo :) The temperature slider could also be styled to use a gradient from blue to red, or a thermometer sprite, and make its meaning more obvious.
Hello, thank you for all feedback and kind words. I agree with everything you suggested. It however was very fun to participate and learn how to use the engine.
We look forward to next Godot Jam so we can try something more original and better! :D
Congrats on your first godot project!
I liked the game, could be a good mobile game if you add more elements, the temperature bar is an interesting mechanic!
Hi, thank you, it was a bit rought at first, learning how to work in the engine, but it was an amazing experience and we can't wait until the next Godot jam.
We are happy you liked the game, thanks for playing and giving feedback! :)
That's a cool game, but I was lost as to where the "temperature meter" was until I noticed that only the tip is visible on fullscreen. I thought getting hit with icicles would be fine if the player was really hot but oh well. Good job.
Hey, thank you for trying out our game, hope you enjoyed it.
Do you mean you couldn't see the temperature bar well enough? Thank you for your feedback :)
Here's a snap of the bottom of the screen with the game running in full-screen on my 1366x768 monitor:
You can notice the tip of the bar so it's just not scaling the display.
If I play without full-screen I can see the whole thing just fine.
Oh I understand now, was this on the browser version?
Yes, on fullscreen.
The classic 'avoiding asteroids' game with a twist. i like it. But the game doesnt seem to get more difficult over time :P that wouldve been cool
Hey thank you a lot for trying the game and giving us feedback, we really appreciate it ! :)
We updated the difficulty to increase much faster overtime, it should be harder now :p
