I like that timer mechanic, just wish there was some way to control it a little and not wait til the next transformation cycle. Good level design some parts were a little frustrating but very fun game! Good music and visuals as well, love the menu (how does that color shift when transforming work? i loved it)
Thanks! The color shift is an animation applied to the URP post processing in Unity, I have 2 post processing profiles in the scene, and the animation just puts the weight of the other profile to 1 and back to 0. Also I did realize the timer is a bit annoying at times, but I couldn’t figure out a way to improve it during the limited time we had..
Really cool concept! Its so intense running through corridors like oh shit I might grow and die! Also nothing more badass then shrinking mid air to get through gap. Some of the levels could use some refinement but they are already at an engaging standard. The OST is a banger too and fits the vibe well. Overall a very solid entry!
Cool game ! However having to wait several seconds to switch sizes is extremely annoying imo, pair that with the lasers that appear without much warning and you got a recipe for an extremely frustrating experience (It's to the point where I wanted the game to end after 2 levels), though, this is just personal preference. Other than that, it would have been nice to have some sound effects along with the music (Which is really cool btw). Overall, it's a pretty good game !
Edit: Oh and I forgot to mention that the timer is pretty hard to notice, it took me a solid minute to realize its existence in the first level.
I’m not sure how you weren’t able to notice the timer, and yes, I am aware that it is a bit annoying. The second level is accidentally really hard to complete. I don’t know if you ended up getting past it, but the following levels focus more on the puzzle aspect, I could probably have added some sort of warning for the lasers but I really didn’t have time to add that too. Also, there are sound effects, maybe you were unable to hear them because of your volume settings. I was thinking of adding independent sliders for music and sound effects but, once again, time was limiting and this was already pretty ambitious for me as is. Thanks either way!
I did get past the second level, also I didn't notice the timer since it kinda blends in with the background too much imo.
I do get how the time limit can mess you up, I also didn't get the time to work on the UI in my game too much xD
Thanks for complimenting the ost! It's one of the first osts I've ever made in that style and the very first one made for a Game Jam specifically, so I'm glad you liked it! <3
