Cool concept here. I agree with others that the idea of losing screen space as you take damage was a great idea, but it was a bit too forgiving with the positioning, which made it almost a non-issue. Some repositioning of the cracks would make this a lot more effective.
There were a decent number of object interactions (spinning blades, arrow traps, and springy things), though you could have used the arrow and springs a bit more. The rooms were a little too easy I think. Especially the last room, where you can just go around the maze of spinning blades.
Not bad at all for a first game. Keep it up :)
Really cool cracked screen effect, kinda similar to what we did in our game, limiting the screen real state. Good job!
Oh and the name is great! haha
Choosing sight as what's scarce is a neat idea, but how the player is positioned in the camera unfortunately made it so the obscured view didn't make much of a difference. I've also hit a glitch where the spinning obstacles pushes the player into wall, making it stuck and get an insta-game over.
Yes, this was my jam partner and I's first attempt at making a game, and our first time using Godot. We didn't have a lot of time to polish and wanted to make sure we executed on the theme at least, but there are definitely a lot of improvements and tuning that needed to be made. It was a lot of fun to make though!
I agree with everything Binary Shred said! I had the exact same experience.
Its an awesome idea though. Polish it up and publish it again, I'd play it!
