Thematic Relevance
One of the main percieved treaths of the quilombos, specially one as large as the Palmares, was the risk of a slave revolt/revolution. Although predecesing the Haiti revolution by a century(ish) that would serve as justification to crack down on slaves, the Palmares size and presence where enough to fear a possible slave uprinsing.
Disclaimers
I have used some assets from https://www.youtube.com/@AngusFan, for the unit prefab and some of the tiles, but i wrote the code by watching his tutorial and coping some elemntes from his code and changing some stuff for my own system

Sorry forgot to explain in the tutorial:
you can move the camera with WASD
after moving a unit you need to either giuve the command to attack or letf click on it to just end the action
also to cross the river you need to go to the tiles that are cyan/ligther tone of blue, they are the shallow parts of the river and they are crossable, in gnereal the rival is like an unpassable terrain.
rigth click also undo the movemen of a unity, but not after you end your actions with them.
sorry for the mistakes, I had to rush the end because of family reasons
Thanks for the control, I was definitly looking for the camera controls! I've gave it another try and the river crossing makes more sense now, I was even able to win with the Quilombos!
I hope everything is fine with your family and I wish you best of luck for your future projects :)
thank you and sorry for the problems.
Thanks to your comments I will be more aware in future projects and avoid that same mistake
A 1v1 turn-based battle for 2 players. I played until one of the team got eliminated. Balance is non-existent as quilombos have no range and half of them can't swim. I guess in a way this is historically accurate and explains why they got slaughtered :'(
I understood a bit better after reading the tutorial that was also holding a piece of story information, but I would have liked to get more context for the battle or a meaning with some dialogues in the game depending of the side you choose to play.
There is a minor bug with the camera, where after an attack, it shakes but doesn't go back to it's original position. I ended up having 2/3 of the screen in the skybox. Also the buttons after the end of the battle are not working ('Main Menu' and 'Play Again').
Still you can be proud of what you achieved, turn-based battle is really hard to implement and I've learned about Quilombo dos Palmares :)
I could not get the hang of the turn based mechanic. I clicked on each member of my team. Moved them, but then nothing happened. I could not figure out how to end my turn. The Game is interesting and informative. Not much by way of sound fx or music. But I recognize the time and effort that went into developing this game! Great job!
This was fun, I love turn based games like this! I did run into a bug where, after making an attack with team 1, I'd be unable to perform any additional commands. So, my battles were a bit lopsided ;p
