Hey there Emanu_art0 , I got your game for judging so here are some of my thoughts. The artstyle was cute and complemented the story. It was good that you edited most of Moghunter's battle HUD, but it did still stand out to me as Moghunter's stuff so I wish you had made your own designs since the curling plant-like design didn't fit in with the patterned battleback.
Battles were very difficult at first, that first fight against a shadow almost killed me. Once I got the hang of everything it was easier, but since I had such limited MP to work with I ended up mostly using the default Attack instead of any skills.
I'm not sure if you meant for it to happen, you Begonia's Diary was usable during battle, which meant that I'd waste a turn instead of anything happening. If the diary was supposed to have a special use during battle I didn't see it happen. I also ran into a loading error when battling the golem enemies, it seems like there's a missing SE for its earthquake attack. That made me avoid golem battles at all cost, since the error would keep popping up until I restarted the game.
Overall, the game's idea is an interesting one so I hope you work on it a while longer. It just needs a bit more time to really polish it so that its inner fire shines bright.
I adore your opening and think the overall aesthetic of this game is super cute! The early battles are a bit tough for the start of a game, but nothing too punishing, as long as you meant for it to be a little on the difficult side to force the player to manage resources well. I love that you give more than enough berries out to help mitigate that.
The music choices are great as well. Overall a really enjoyable experience. :)
love the style of this! cute characters as well both in design and personality.
well done!
I loved the art and the story about humans and phoenix. Congrats, Emanu. Your concept and ambience composition are great.
