Description
My first thought was to do something dark. But I decided that I should try to work with other genres, so here`s something cute.
I didn't have time to realize all my ideas for this project because of my work, but here's what I did.
"Fallen Rider" is a pixel novel game.
The protagonist is one of the many death riders whose job is to take people's souls at the behest of their superior, the "death-boss". It's his routine, he's been doing it since the ages.
But one day he is assigned to take the soul of a princess. When he meets her, our protagonist falls in love with her and refuses to fulfill the task.
However, the other riders kidnap the princess anyway and prepare to send her to the other world.
The task of our hero is to prevent this and save the princess, no matter what it takes.
At the end of the game, running away from the chase, our rider realizes that there is no other way to protect his beloved but to grant her immortality. Our hero gives his soul stone to the princess, but he himself turns into ashes.
It's a sad ending.

"Lullaby of Death" - A lullaby sung by a horseman who takes people's souls. A reference to the funeral march.
"Danse Macabre"- The theme of the main “death-boss” theme, heard in the abode of the dead, where the death riders are given tasks by their superiors. A reference to Camille Saint-Saëns.
"Endless Night" - Death who comes to the castle to fetch the princess falls in love with her. They spend the night outside in the garden, watching the stars and talking about eternal things. The theme of love and princesses in general.
"Escape to Life" - A theme that resounds as our characters try to escape back to the world of the living. P.S. here you can hear some crackles in the mix here. I kno, it's my comp dying, couldn't do anything about it :(

First thought like everybody else you clearly have a Danny Elfman influence for sure the chords the ambiance the textures but you still have your own sound somehwere in there which I appreciate, its well composed good job.
Oo, this is some good composing. This is definitely awesome. And while you definitely have this chiptune-esque thing going, you actually are executing on it well. A lot of people think "oh, it's chiptune, so I just make this video-gamey sort of music and call it a day." No, it's just as hard to do it well, in fact, it can be harder because you're working with sounds that are
Haha, I love the reference to the Chopin death march at the end of your first track.
Heh - you used that classical piece of the same name at the intro for Danse Macabre. Yeah, this is fucking fantastic, is what I'll say about it. It totally has a vibe, and it the vibe fits the cover art really well. What's funny is this somehow actually reminds me of the music of Banjo Kazooie, but in the best possible way. Love that game, loves its music.
Endless Night - very Burtonesque, but well executed in that I heard it and then my *heart* felt that Burton vibe from it, not like it's a shallow copying and pasting, but like you're actually communicating in that spirit. Really good stuff, actually got some goosebumps.
Escape to Life - Sounds like it's riffing off of James Bond (same progression). But, repurposed here it really works well, and then it doesn't just do that the whole track.
Blown away. I liked your last submission a lot, this one I love.
Well done, and thank you. :)
Your choice of instruments is eclectic!!! i love the instrument you chose to work with. i can actually here the friction of the bow on violin. Most daw don't do a great job of creating that authentic violin sound.
This music gives me the impression you have created music for television, commercial, and cartoons. you do a great job of mixing in familiar Halloween/popular culture melodies and progressions. Very clean and profession. You might want to consider writing for directors, theatre, tv, and larger productions. The body of work you have submitted here would kill as portfolio piece to pitch.
Like Mechpie mentioned i get some Danny Elfman vibes too!
Love all the little references sprinkled here and there, and the arrangements and production is great.
Only thing that stuck out to me while listening, was that the solo strings felt a bit too dry compared to the rest of the ensemble.
Stellar stuff!
Wow, that's a cool twist, such Tim Burton vibes. You could put that as a score to The Nightmare Before Christmas and it would match PERFECTLY.
Great storytelling through sound, I enjoyed it a lot :)
I really appreciate the creative twist you added to the atmosphere. Excellent job! I especially enjoyed "Escape to Life"
