Description
Pale Omen is an atmospheric composition crafted for Impressions Composing Jam: OST #1.

My attempt to create an ethereal soundscape that feels ancient and dark.

Soulful, atmospheric, and... romantic? Lol, why does this song sound romantic to me! What the...

You hit the theme well! Medieval chorus, slightly eerie orchestra and a beautiful melody.... I like it.)

I appreciate you tuning in! I wouldn’t describe it as romantic, but I love that it evokes various moods in others!

This track nails atmosphere! It feels like a place I’m in rather than just a song I’m listening to. I liked the chord progressions and instrument choices throughout carrying different vibes and intensities. Really nicely done!

Oo. Liking this so far.

It's atmospheric, but the composition is really good and has a sense of story. I think it maybe gets a little repetitive, but it's good.

The percussion is maybe a little dry and could be wetter than the rest of the mix. I think the vocals could also be wetter.

Great work and thank you! :)

Thank you! I wanted to envision the Knight's arrival and create music that captures his essence. I appreciate your feedback! I realize I need to improve my mastering skills and level up my skills with effects.

Composing this piece was a truly enjoyable experience, and I'm glad I joined the jam!

Instantly thought medieval from the sound of the bell/gong that was reminiscent of the old church bell town churches use to ring (and in some places still do). Great choice to start the song off with. Instantly created a scene for me. would have loved to hear sound effects like people walking on gravel. Love the use of Voice/choir and violin. Curious where you got the choir voice sounds from, they remind me of hymns from church. All in all, Well crafted, well thought out in regards to instrument selection, and never a dull moment with melody between the Choir, Violins, and Vocals.

Thank you very much for your thorough feedback! I genuinely appreciate it. For the choir sound, I used a Voxos choir library that my friend provided.

The track definitely fits the ancient and dark description very well. I also really like the change in tempo and key at different instances of the song, keeps the track from being one-note.

I really appreciate it! Thanks for taking the time to listen.

Well done, fit your description, its very calm and ambient but fit the mood using orchestral pallet. Very strange chord progression too it keeps the mystery I was surprised every single new change.

Developer

Thank you! I often used modal interchange to really express the emotions I was feeling.

I admire the way you composed this with all the instruments blending in so well that you can immerse yourself in such a foreboding DnD-esque environment. Your use of the vocalisations and timpanis were 🔥🎯
