This is neat!

One thing I'd like to see is the addition of some type of hazard that rests on the ground (like a crack or hole in the road) that forces the player to jump. This would serve to reduce the downtime between needing jumps, as the bouncing car-pocalypse must often be avoided by remaining grounded, which leads to some long stretches of downtime.

I really enjoyed the art, especially how the little man looks like he deeply regrets his current life decisions! Some speed lines when you pick up the coffee might better communicate the increase in speed though.

Great work all around!

This is pretty cool. For constructive criticism I thought of a couple of points maybe to help.

1) It feels like the way the cars move is quite random so when I die it feels more unfair rather than because I messed up if that makes sense. As a quick idea something like having  different kinds of cars like a small blue one that always did smaller bounces and a large red truck that always did large bounces and a yellow taxi that always drove along the road etc. So the behaviour is more consistent which helps the player improve their skill over time.

2) For the coffee it wasn't entirely clear what the inventive was to get it, I think it makes me move faster for a little bit but I think it would be cool if it was clearer what it did. Or instead have it as another end state like I have a little caffeine energy bar and if I run out of caffeine in my system I would stop so I have to keep drinking the coffee to continue running.

I know time is super limited in a game jam but I just feel like it's better to receive at least some kind of constructive criticism on what could be better as I personally find that useful, so I hope it's not taken the wrong way at all haha :)

I really do appreciate this. That different cars idea is genius. Never would have thought of it and yes I do understand your frustration, I tried making it so you could always dodge them as long as you were good enough but sadly it seems I did not accomplish that.

Very charming game! The gameplay is intuitive and fun!

The artstyle is pretty and sounds are fitting.

a button simulator!

very cool parallax effect, cool jumpy cars with a bit of balanced rng, the music is cool, but the death sfx is soo loud that it can make my ears bleed :'), the art is nice, but sometimes it's inconsistent at times, the car and the coffe look bland, while the player character has much more details in him.

oh and btw i think there isn't an ending for the game, but if there is i wish if you can add it to the description so at lease i know what am trying to reach (i reached 1100m and while i expected the bunker to be in the 1000m, well it didn't and it kept going for 1560m tell i died )

still very fun game to play for a couple of times, good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing. I wanted to work alot more on the art but my motivation died near the end, so I simply submitted what I had. Sorry for the death SFX, I did not realize how loud it was. The ending is at 2500m.

pretty cool

although something that wasn't very clear was the coffee, i didn't know it speeds me up until i hit it by accident, it would be awesomeif you can add it to the description :)

Developer

I will. Thanks for playing!

Awsome game loved playing. Gets a bit repetitive but was a lot of fun for the how long we had to make it.

This was pretty fun! I don't know why but the bouncing cars really made me laugh when I first saw them and the post processing really does make it look like an explosion just happened. The only things I would do is add something in the beginning that would wait for you to press space before starting and also making the buildings in the background look more destroyed.

I'll rate as soon as rating is fixed!

I'm happy you gave it a shot! Thanks for playing!
