I'm sorry to hear you couldn't get the final version out, the screenshots look neat, I really love the style on them!

I really did enjoy the different effects on the original pong game, simple, but literally game-changing. The sound effects were solid, fit really well! The music was very soothing, too!

I did find the AI was just a tad bit too hard to my liking (was it beatable at all haha?) - I noticed, the moment I'd hit the blip, it'd go straight into the position where the blip would eventually go. Nonetheless, I did enjoy a good 15 minutes of playing pong with different effects and I hope to give the full version a shot once the jam is over!

Thanks for your submission!

Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, the AI is maybe a bit hard lol. Since it is a story game you’re not actually supposed to beat it. I think the flappy mode (F) is the only one where you can get a shot through xD

Despite technical issues getting the final version out, even this earlier version is actually quite brilliant.  A small mechanical change to pong and suddenly its a completely different game.  I think its a really cool concept.  I would actually like to play your full version, is it posted somewhere?

Developer

Thanks, glad to hear it! That was actually one of the criteria I had for deciding on a concept, aka. "The prototype for the game has to be fun as well".

As for a download: Not right now, we don't want someone playing the full version to affect the vote on itch as that wouldn't be fair to the rules if we haven't got permission to do it. You can bet we're gonna upload the second the jam is over though! (Well, as soon as we can ;) )

its quite sad you couldnt get the export done in time, as the screenshots look quite cool. It took me a while to learn it was 'S' to spawn a ball. Messing around with the gamemodes is fun i guess, and the musics cool too, but other than that it's just a barebones pong (that you cant win either). ill definitely check back on this once the jam ends and check out the final build.

Thanks! Yeah oh well. Something was bound to go wrong for the first game-jam. We just got the authentic experience ;)

Ps: you posted a duplicate comment

It's a shame you couldn't upload the final build on time, i can only guess what the game should really look like, but for what i played, it's an infinite lose pong game.

I really liked the music.

Yeah, something went wrong with the export and it was 03 in the morning so we just gave up in the end. Works now though! I've just uploaded some screenshots from the final build to give people an idea of what that looks like
