The moment the first NPC spoke I could tell you're a Banjo and Kazooie fan :P
But hot dang this is mighty slick man. Very enjoyable and feels very well polished. Plus the whole look and feel comes together very nicely.
I lost track of the objectives after being told to go west to the farm, and while it said "[press 0]" to show objectives I couldn't bring it back up or figure out how to go further west than the map seemed to allow. (Not playing post-jam version)
Ended up finding Hobo Santa up north though and had quite a lot of fun "making use" of the lil' gift on the ground there ;)
I suppose we should have made that much clearer, it's "O" not "0". If you're interested in seeing the rest, if you go west of the town on the road at the very edge of the map you'll hit a trigger you have to press 'E' on to go to the farm.
Ooooooh well now I just feel silly xD Don't worry I didn't factor it into my rating so you weren't unduly punished by my decaffeinated brain.
I'll probably D/L the post jam version and check it out :D
I'm planning on adding a bit more polish this week in a 2nd post jam version, so keep an eye out for it!
the second post jam update is live! Now including hard mode!

I really liked this project. It has a solid aesthetic and is full of a lot of small bits of polish that you usually do not see in time restricted events such as game jams. Great job!
:O
I enjoyed this game. It has a great aesthetic. The only thing is that there wasn't much crafting, apart from using sacrificing 8 demon heads (did I miss it somehow?). A lovely little game nonetheless!
This was great! I can see that there was SO much effort put into this! And there were even nice little details like how you lost your outline when you went behind a tree. I'm not sure if I was lucky or if it was a bug, but I took no damage (I'd like to think I was lucky). It's definitely a favorite of mine! Great job, applauses all around!
Happy to hear you enjoyed it!!
Wow, Thank you! wasn't expecting to be compared to a game of that level of quality! Our team currently is not planning on expanding on this game, because we are hard at work on making our jam entry from last year, Galactic Gunsmith, into a full game! If you're (or anyone is) interested in checking out more of out stuff you can find it at https://saucyarmadillogames.itch.io/ page or on our discord server!

This was a real treat to play! The story was simple and hatched out really well - the dialogue/conversations with all the NPCs were perfect. I can see inspiration perhaps being drawn from games such as Earthbound and Terraria, and yet, the art/graphics are very stylized and original. Not to mention, a great attention to detail (swaying trees, being able to pick up dead bodies, injuring NPCs, etc..). Great work SaucyArmadilloGames!
Happy to hear you enjoyed it!
The art looked really cool , always wanted to make one like this , really like the contrast of the colour , but obvious with only this time there will be bugs, When you start if you ignore the dinner and go to the police the door wont open even tho it said to Press E , and after you recebe the pistol if you press E the weapon disappears and you get stuck cus you cant fight the monsters . Well still a good game comparing to some in this Jam.
A work around for this currently is, if you die, you'll notice a pistol spawn next to you when you respawn!
The game wasnt designed for sequence breaking, so try to follow the objectives best you can!
