How did you implement the theme?
Mostly in the narrative and a little bit in the level design. The light is DECAYing, and the world is DECAYing. So the game features darkness and shadows prominently as well as giants pits in the ground where the world has decayed away.
How did you add the special object?
Little Shadow (the main character) has a SHADOW WAND they use to cast dark magic, and throughout the game they are collecting the fragments of the LIGHT WAND to restore the light and stop the decay.

wow, really literally cool game. Cool everything, especially for my it's dialogue and mechanics)))).
Only one thing... I somehow in first try, stuck, accidentally turned on the dialogue while moving, and could neither move nor turn off the dialogue. But everything else cool! good work!

Absolutely AMAZING! Loved the graphics, the music, the gameplay and the story! The puzzles were great fun, I am very surprised you managed to complete this in only a few days. Best game I've played so far! :D

I was running out of time so I kept the puzzles pretty simple and focused on the story. I'm glad the humour came through. I'm trying to push myself into making some more interesting narratives, with humour and some "sweetness" to them.

Yeah, I originally wanted to make more animals have different abilities... but I was just running out of time so I went for polishing the story instead. I might add some more after the jam.
