I broke the game my first 10 seconds of playing

Nice concept! I feel like it kind of lacks the modifier implementation though.

Also, I think I broke the game every time I played so far. At some point, I started infinitely accelerating without even holding "up".

There's a 2nd gravity well that you can reach which will slingshot you into escape velocity, I reckon you hit that. 

The physics aren't perfect either, definitely room for improvement

I like the interaction of the environment either helping or killing the record.

This might just be the complicated interpretation of “Time kills you” wherein as time progresses either your progress is killed and you have to start again, or time spent accelerating will help you with your progress.

Didn't have the time to make it clear enough, but the faster you go the slower time ticks down. 

You can stop the ticking altogether by going faster than light
