The graphics, the music, the animations and the visual effects are cool ! And it respects well the theme of the game jam ! However, I didn't like the controls, I felt like my character was too heavier, especially compare to the enmies, I would have like lighter and smoother controls. To sum-up, nice work !

Really nice job! It was pretty enjoyable and I found myself having to go around 1 of the mages to be able to learn the next spell which was nice and tense. I love the fact that there's a music change telling you when you kill everyone. The fire projectile animation starts up a bit slow, making it look weird when you walk and shoot in the same direction. I liked the depth feeling of the wizards hat, simple but well done, I would love to see it animate a bit as you walk, maybe just a simple size change loop. The main menu looks neat. The impact sound of projectiles is a bit loud.

An update released just now does the following

  1. Adds trails to the projectiles
  2. Increases the acceleration of projectiles
  3. Makes the shadow spell go through walls
  4. Fixes being able to do some spells without the necessary amount of "mana"
  5. Adds small walk and firing animations
  6. Halves the sound of the impacts

Great game,

i liked the concept of collecting the other mages scrolls to learn their magic to kill them, i thaught it was well balanced, since i completed it my second time running the game, the sounds and music were nice, aswell as the movement.

the shooting could use some work, since its a bit weird, and not as smooth as the other mechanics, which makes it stand out more.

overall great game good job!
