Congratulations on submitting a game for the jam! This is a nice idea. Though, it does become very easy when you spam right click, then click left, and then repeat ad infinitum.
But yeah, its hard to make a game in 48 hours. Our first 48 hour jam game wasn't even submitted lol
Thanks for commenting! Yeah, in terms of difficulty...it's kind of easy once you get the spamming down. I do want some sort of turret overheating (which forces you to not spam) or bullet refresh mechanic, but I wasn't confident in building it in without creating more bugs. As I learned about attempting game jams and learning about game dev as a beginner, thinking about features and implementing them are two very different things lol.
This is a good game and a great start if this is your first game jam attempt.
I think it would have benefitted from a game over/high score screen to break up the gameplay loop (I played a few times without realising I had lost and restarted) but it was still fun to play.
Sounds like you had plans for VFX and more gameplay systems but you managed to submit a working game on time (with instructions which are super useful) so congrats!
Hi. Thanks for the feedback and kind words! I'll keep those suggestions in mind for improving this game as well as working on any future ones I do in game jams. I signed up for a couple prior but I couldn't finish them for various reasons (bad use of time, idea paralysis). I'm relatively new to all this so I'm just happy I got a working game done.
Glad you had fun with my game!
I liked the game, interesting and fun!
Thanks for the kind words! I got some ideas to improve it, add some sound effects, and fix those pesky bugs.
I would have loved some visual feedback to see if what I was doing was correct. I ended up mashing the two mouse buttons in rapid sequence, which seemed to be working.
Hi, thanks for testing the game, and giving some feedback! I really appreciate it.
The plan was sounds (of course I forgot that..), and during the process I thought of some ideas (a reload or a heat sensor that prevents you from spamming the bullets) but didn't have enough time before the deadline to implement into the game.
