Very sophisticated with a lot of fun mechanics working together. The day-night lighting changes are wonderful, though like some others I found the map icons hard to read at night. (And actually the game world itself gets pretty dark at some point.) I would have loved some music to help go along with the gentle exploratory mood. But wow, so impressive!
Thanks for your feedback!
That was incredible! The controls felt so satisfying to use, and the lighting was beautiful. I just wish Kenney had a sea shanty pack you could have used. It took me a bit to figure out the real purpose of the map, but once I did charting the ocean was very fulfilling and helpful in finding that treasure. Amazing job!
Thank you! I appreciate it! Agree, some shanties would have been lovely.
Lovely visuals! I like the particle effects following the boat and the day-night cycle. One thing is it was hard to view the landmark icons at night. Really calming gameplay overall and well polished!
Thanks for your feedback!
Very very very cool game !!!!!
Thank you!
This is cool game about exploring world. Game fully focuses on the theme, have great visuals and great calm gameplay. I was enjoying playing the game. I found only one minus: When camera becomes darker it's really hard to see icons on right of the map.
Thanks! I agree, the icons are too dark when it is night. I was developing it with full brightness on my monitor, so it looked fine there. But when I played again later and noticed the problem, it was unfortunately too late.
Nice job! You did all this on your own?
Thanks! Well, except the assets :)
This game is absolutely stunning! Wish I read the controls more carfeully as I played it without map or camera rotation, and even then I had an absolute blast! (Please add in-game control text though). The sailing feels very smooth and the last page was well worth finding! Loved the story and the various notes. I also went back and tried the map and being able to mark the spots is very nice! An absolute masterpiece! Just needs a music track.
Keep up the great work!!
Thank you for your feedback! Agree, I definitely should have added an in-game tutorial.
This game attempts to capture the wonder and curiosity that Dredge sparks in you. It certainly emulates its artstyle and setting. I think that, despite the somewhat slow speed of your pirate ship, it does a great job at capturing it. I certainly had fun.
It took me a hot second to realize the book in the top-left corner would show me the message bottles I've collected, hot enough that I had pretty much collected every one by wandering randomly before I read any of them, so I was probably more lost than intended. I don't know why I didn't realize sooner, but oh well.
Thanks for your feedback! And yeah, I did complete Dredge recently, so it is definitely an inspiration :)
Pretty cool game, exploring and drawing your own map is a cool idea
