I like your selection of art and contrasting colors. Also you have made some snappy gameplay here with good audio feedback. Nice work!
Thanks for playing! I appreciate the comments.
Great game feel, nice stylistic visuals, fun and clever game play. Truly a great job! If you could add more levels it'd be greater but i know it's pretty hard to that in 48 hours
Thanks for playing, I really appreciate it. Yeah, I ran out of time :/ But I will continue developing after the jam for sure!
Very impressive destruction game mechanic. It's a creative interpretation of the theme. Destroy to create a path to explore. Add in some puzzle elements and I could see a game like this do quite well.
Your game could so have done with sound effects to added polish, though I guess there just wasn't enough time.
Thank you for playing, and for the feedback. I totally agree about the SFX and other polish, I just ran out of time. I plan to keep working on it after the jam and add in all the stuff I missed.
l like the destruction very much. Good job!
Thank you!
Amazing platforming! Matches the theme perfectly.
Thank you! And thanks for checking it out!
We loved this one, the concept of breaking the stage to make your own way while you explore is perfect. The fact that you can get your objetive shooting in many ways and making completely different routes gives this a lot of replayability. It's also impresively polished!
Thanks to you both! And thanks for playing!
Really fun small game!
The level destruction is such a great idea and it gives the player a lot of agency to just do whatever they want. Like for the shrooms on the far left, the player could just break through from underneath to collect the shrooms or they could shoot out the block under neath the falling tiles and crush the enemy guarding them. The platforming felt nice, although a slight problem would be that it felt weird to slip off of completely flat tiles sometimes. Nonetheless, I would love to see this expanded to more levels and features in the future! Good job!
Thank you so much! I agree, the collider on the player sprite is shaped weirdly and causes some undesirable slipping. I will definitely fix that, and add a bunch of other things, because I definitely intend to continue developing after the jam.
Also I just played yours, can't believe it was made in just 48 hrs!
Really neat (^w^)<3
I really like the fact you can destroy tiles (even if I almost destroyed my only path to the door at some point (^^") )
Thank you for making this little platformer game (^^)
Thank you for playing!
Very cool idea... And the level design with destructible levels is also very clever!
Thanks for playing!!
Nice one. The use of 1bit assets and gameplay is really cool. You managed to make the best of the 48 houres, and it feel like a pretty complete little game! good job!
Thank you! I just checked out yours and had a good time playing it.
I liked the experience. Was stuck for twenty seconds with no idea what to do, but after i discovered that you can break some walls.
It would be nice if game had a tutorial(it's hard to make one in 48h, what you did is impressive for someone new to Unity).
Also i think horizontal speed is a bit slow, but it's really subjective and i often mess up with speed, cause i like to go really fast :)
And separate like for not floating mushrooms, I thought they will float if I break floor under them.
Great job and good luck in your projects!
Thanks again for taking a look at my game. I only have a Mac, so I'm experimenting with Wine/trying to borrow a windows laptop so I can play yours before the end of the week. I'll get to it!
Ok so I finally got hold of a windows laptop and tried out your game. It seemed like a very cool high-concept experience, but I have to admit I shared some of the frustration that some of your other reviewers experienced. The tutorial text was hard to follow and I felt very lost trying to figure out exactly what to do. Also, I was using an older laptop, but the game lagged for me--maybe more of a problem on my end, but it didn't seem like a very graphics-intensive game. I do appreciate your take on "exploration" though, which is that you have to explore the mechanics themselves to figure out how the puzzles work. This was a super ambitious project and I think it's great you got it on its feet in such a short period of time.
I quite enjoyed my time playing this game, I like the idea of destructible tiles, pretty solid platformer overall
Thanks for playing! I just played yours and wow, talk about a nice platformer!
That's a nice game.
Thank you, I just played yours!
Neat game - lick that you can shoot the walls and the brake - well done
Wow, this is a lot of fun, I really enjoyed figuring out how best to destroy blocks in the environment in order to access the shrooms! The music was fun, and the controls felt very good and responsive! I just wish it was a little bit longer and had more levels, but this is a great submission; awesome job!
Edit: another thing that could be cool to add could be new gun types, like maybe a shogun can blow up a 3x2 section in front of you; could make it tricky to figure out how to use it best to break the blocks in the level
Thank you for playing! Yeah, I'd intended to add a lot more game to this game but I underestimated how long it would take me to make the basic mechanics work and ran out of time. I totally agree with you re: new gun types--I want to keep working on this after the jam, and I'm thinking you may be able to trade shrooms for better/different gear in between levels. Shotguns, bombs, what have you.
Also I just played your game, it was lovely and very impressive. And it was cool to see what you did with the same tileset. ;)
really nice game, the level destruction was a nice touch! it was hard to not softlock myself into not being able to get a shroom so i had to play a few times to collect them all! nice work
Ha, the urge to stockpile resources is strong in our species. Thanks for playing! I just checked out yours and enjoyed it.
This was really fun, great work!
Thanks for playing! just checked yours out, its amazing!
Destroying thing makes me happy^^
Thanks for playing. I tried yours but I just kept being stuck in the ground in the upper left corner and couldn't move.
Having a lot of fun playing this! The destructible environment provides some replay value. Great work.
Thank you! I just checked out yours.
This is super enjoyable to play. Despite only having one level, this is one of my favorite entries from the entire jam. Great job!
Thank you so much for the encouragement, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I just rated yours and was very impressed.
Thank you for the rating!
