Good job! :D
I liked the game, it fits the theme very well.
Maybe a ui to help the player know what is happening with more clarity would be fine.
Nice game especially it seems you wrote your own little engine. But at the end I didn't know where to get more weapons for the soldier to enter the dungeon. Maybe a little Questinfo like "Go to xy" would help or maybe the quest was buggy, because I've completed the most quest earlier.
The movement of the player is a little bit janky and made me a little bit motion sick. A smoother movement would be nice. But overall it's a nice little RPG, and that's in 48 hours.
You can get weapons by helping the blacksmith (the bottom right corner of the village, with the metal-y ground.)
I'm not quite sure what you mean about the jank. Do you mean that if you hold down a key to move in a direction, then it moves quite quickly and in big discrete steps? That's a consequence of how the movement works by being fully tile-aligned, so it "teleports" to the next tile rather than smoothly going pixel by pixel. So within that environment, I think the only thing that would help is just moving slower.
Having finer-grained smooth movement rather than just skipping between grid tiles would definitely be nicer. But yeah, new game and movement code in 48 hours - we didn't even have enough time to render the text nicely on screen =)
We'll do a v1.1 after the jam with some improvements, though unfortunately supporting smooth pixel-movement instead of tile-movement is probably too big and out of scope for this game.
Yes, that's what I mean about the movement. But I didn't find the correct word to describe it.
Awesome stuff! Out of all the games I've played from this game jam, this one seems to have the most depth, but is still very simple! Well done!
Thank you ^_^
Cute world and characters. Had fun playing through to the end :)
Nice little relaxing, puzzle, adventure game. Great use of Kenney assets.
thank you ^_^
