Does the Kenney asset restriction apply to the itch page and thumbnail?

NO. As the background and everything on the page, it doesn't have to be related to Kenny's assets. 

The challenge is to only use the pre-made game assets, you can create a logo for your game but the thumbnail should also feature the assets.
