Overwhelming Odors stands out as one of the more unique submissions this year. Its inhale/exhale based mechanics to attract and repel different smells was unexpected.
There isn't a lot of artwork here, but what there is is fun, and the face feels surprisingly expressive given that only its pupils and nose move.
Unfortunately, noted bugs with win/lose conditions make the game's objective difficult to discern.
Most of the suggestions I would have had are covered in the list of missing features on the game page, so I think you were heading in a good direction. It would be interesting to see how a "wind" mechanic that affected the direction and velocity of all smells would change the flow of the game.
There's an interesting concept at work here, but one that's hampered by a lack of clear objectives and player feedback.
Thanks for submitting and best of luck with the project if you continue development! :D
Interesting concept. Love the visuals and the face animation. Would like to see where this goes!
The WebGL version doesn't work in Firefox (Index out of bounds).
The cone angle resets to 'down' on click.
Nice idea, too bad the goal is unclear and win/lose not working.
Thanks for the feedback, murk. I also experienced that error, but only on "Credits" and "Quit", as noted in the description. Did that happen when you tried to start a new game as well?
Which device did you click when the cone reset? I will try to reproduce the issue.
I'll update the description with the goal right away, but yeah, there's not much to it at the moment, unfortunately.
It happened after I clicked "Run game" just before the loading bar reaches the end. Firefox 59.0.2 (64-bit).
The cone resets whenever I click with the left or right mouse button but works fine as long as I hold the button. Chromium 65.0.3325.181 (Official Build) Arch Linux (64-bit).
Thanks for the additional details. I was able to reproduce the issue. It seems that it's caused by the browser sending joypad axis input, even when there's no gamepad connected. We will upload a fix as soon as possible.
