I'm not 100% sure about how to speedrun comics unfortunately, because everyone has a different process ^^' If you're doing a rough draft first approach, then my suggestion would be making the loosest, simplest rough draft you can so that you can get through that part fast and then move onto the final draft quicker.

If you can get away with just duplicating/copy-pasting backgrounds or poses for certain panels where there's not meant to be much movement outside of expressions, that could save you time on line work!

And worse comes to worse, you can still submit the unfinished product, as this is an unranked jam, so there's no penalty or anything for submitting a comic that's still in early drafts :) I'm also planning to run another bug themed jam this summer, which I know is a bit of a ways away, but if you feel like you need more time you could always save it for the next bug themed jam, as I plan to be pretty lenient about letting people submit projects they started before the jam timeline!

I hope some of this was helpful- and ultimately, it's okay if you don't finish it in time to submit to the jam, because I'd still love to see what you come up with post-jam!
