Did you work in a team?
Worked solo on this. It was great fun, but the last stretch was stressful!

Was the resolution a challenge?
I tried conforming every perspective of the player to a small view-space, so the game would feel claustrophobic and spooky while you explore the depths of the sea.

What did you learn?
Had to learn some of the new Unity features. Working on this game made me aware that I need to focus better on more important features, like level design early, instead of getting caught up in polishing random features to make them 'feel just right'.

This game is woefully underplayed, the atmosphere is awesome!  I got stuck a few times due to going off the path and getting me and my submarine stuck at the boundary, but I kept retrying anyway!

I *think* I got to the ending, but the game just reset so I'm not 100% sure :)
Might have to try again ;)

Hey! I’m going to say this upfront… I run on Linux and, when I attempted the game via WINE, for whatever reason, the game lost “grasp” of the mouse whenever I was holding left button to steer the sub, so, sadly, that made the game near impossible to play for long.

That said, what little I did see of the game looks beautiful. Everything was clear, even at such a low resolution, and the controls made sense. That said, for me, when I could steer a little, the controls were inverted on BOTH axis for my comfort level, so, even if I could have played longer, the steering controls would have driven me crazy without any option to invert them.

Again, beautiful game from what I did manage to see!!

Unfortunately Linux is not supported, sorry about that. Thanks though!

Like the comment before, the atmosphere was just perfect. Was not prepared to be scared at all, had to even turn my bedroom's lights on. The creaking noises of the submarine was so fricking good at making me fell scared. Just had some minor problems having to restart every time my sub crashed cause I didn't know you could repair it, but that's not a problem of the game

One of the best horror games I've ever played. Thanks for gaving me thalassophobia XD

Developer

Ah thank you!! Yeah, I should have made a better job of explaining  how to repair the sub. Glad you enjoyed it!

The atmosphere was top notch. Nice job with the lighting and audio. It was actually horryfying to decend into the darkness around sink ships while your submarine is ckeaking under water pressure.

And you did everything solo - amazing!

Developer

Thanks, appreciate it! Glad those pressure sounds were noticed, haha!

I love the feel of diving in to the unknown and audiowork is excellent that really pushes the atmosprehe even further. I can appreciate the "extra" stuff you made, like swimming underwater and fixing your ship, even though core experience would have been fine without them. However the ship is a bit wonky to control and I did ran into some game-breaking problems. I did get "stuck" to the rock in ~4500m, in a way that I could ride along it, but couldn't get further than 2m from it. Then on third run I think I hit edge of the map or something, because there was something blocking me from going down. Then I just quit and watched a playthrough from youtube. :)

Good job getting this out less than 2min before deadline! :D

Developer

Thanks a lot, it was a close run! Yeah my focus was a bit all over the place in terms of features. And thanks for the heads up regarding the bugs!

I'll be honest, the controls of the actual submarine aren't very intuitive and are kinda touchy. The screen also could be zoomed in at times when you're not interacting with objects and the cockpit darkened so you could see outside a bit better. But with that out of the way, this game has great atmosphere and the controls all being 'in-world' adds a massive layer to the immersion while also being a very smart way to keep HUD to a minimum. Audio is very good. Loved your entry overall.

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it overall
