Did you work in a team?
Solo

Was the resolution a challenge?
It was a challenge when it came to figuring out how to use the space efficiently, and UI was also a challenge. It was a really fun limitation though and inspired me to be more creative.

What did you learn?
This is my first time doing a Game Jam Solo, so having to go through the entire process of coding, art, and sounds on my own, I feel helped me grow a lot as a developer and gave me more experience. My game is far from perfect, but it is the first project I have seen through from beginning to end in a long while.

Nice little platformer in 1-bit style. Plays nice, the recoil when firing gives it quite a particular control quirk. Seems the map design can leave you trapped (fell down to a savepoint near some spikes, had no way out of there). SFX are ok, but having some bg music would give a more immersive feeling to the game. Good job with this entry

Stunning how a minimalistic game makes you play it until you win :) I like the little details like the water drop sounds.

I'm glad you liked it!

Fun stuff and some nicely handled game mechanics. I especially like the nice little touches like the recoil on shooting and looking down. Good work.

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback!

I'm very much in love with the artstyle and sound design, but the death being abrupt was the first thing I noticed too.

Overall this is a great start to what feels like can become a great game. What it needs now is improvements on "Game-feel", things like a health system, death animation, slowing the bullets down a bit so they stay on the screen longer, some basic music, etc.

Overall I love it and can't wait to see what it evolves into.

That was super hard. I fell down a hole and got stuck between a spike-pit and a checkpoint flag.

The graphics really nailed the Amiga feel with more modern play-speed.
