This is so cool! I'm really impressed with the quality of this game and the artwork and music / sound are really well done as well! The gameplay is smooth and does not feel buggy at all.

So cool! Such a simple concept but so fun! Great atmosphere.

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback!

I'm glad you liked it!

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I had some trouble with collisions with the kangaroos and the collision that is supposed to kill you if you fall off the map. The slider's were all being weird I could not figure out why you have to click 3/4 of the way up the bar to move it. I honestly should have swapped it with just a number setting or something. All things I plan on fixing after the jam is over.

Thank you for the feedback and posting a video! so cool to watch someone else play our game. Everything you said is absolutely right. some of the hitboxes are kind of weird and when you fell offthe map, there actually is a death box there which is why you stopped falling but its not killing you for some reason. It seems like that's the only part of the map where you don't die if you fall off.

ah I see, I kept dying before I got that far 😜

Beautiful game! I thought it looked very clean and well made and fit with the theme well. It was also kind of addicting and made me want to keep trying again after I died. The randomness of the labyrinth was very cool!

Thanks for the comment! I'll be sure to check out your game :)

There actually is a sound effect but I don't think I balanced the sounds very well. I also meant to add a visual cue for taking damage but ran out of time.

I probably played for about 10 minutes, did I miss something that brings in the theme more? If so I'll definitely give it another go :)

I just finished it! Again great work :)

Also I think you're right the  boomerang was tad slow. This was personally my first game jam and I ended up spending a lot more time getting the mechanics working than I did designing the level. I also didn't spend much time fine tuning the game feel but its definitely something I want to come back to.

yeah we used a box collider below the map to kill the player when they fell off but the it didn't seem to work in some spots, never did get it figured out.

funnily enough I actually added a material to the player with zero friction to the player but still had that problem. Maybe I needed to add it to the walls as well.

Very cool! It fit the theme very well and was a lot of fun and not to mention well implemented. Great game!

If you have time I would love it if you played and rated my game https://itch.io/jam/vimjam/rate/767397

Also the fact that the levels are randomly generated is even more impressive! It was very challenging though I haven't been able to complete it yet.

This game was so cool! I absolutely think it should win the jam. It played really well and I loved the 1 bit style. Also the soundtrack was amazing!

I posted in your community post as well but I'd love it if you played my teams game. We also had the idea to do a boomerang but did a side scroller platformer instead.

I can't believe you made this in a week!  This game seems very well developed and was incredibly fun to play. Besides the focused of collectibles which was clearly very present, The theme was not present at all IMO. Overall super awesome game, but it doesn't feel like it was tailored for this jam.

Great game! I thought the concept was very cool, having to collect all the colors.

Yeah I agree I could that the movement physics could use a little bit of work.

Ah I see sorry I didn't get far enough to find that. I will be sure to try it again and try to get farther.

Thanks I appreciate it!

Yeah that makes sense, we had more we wanted to do too but didn't have enough time. If you took a little bit of time to try out our submission for the jam I would really appreciate it!

Cool game! A little something different than the other games I've played so far. I thought the ammo was a little too limited based on the number of zombies there were and the zombie's for the most part were pretty easy to avoid. I liked it! 8 out of 10.

I loved the art style, very creative! I also liked the mechanic of being able to crab and hang off of ledges. I didn't see too much of the theme present and the gameplay beyond that was pretty typical for a platformer. I'd give it a 7 out of 10!

Nice game! I liked the art style. There were some orbs and platforms that seemed impossible to reach because the jump was too small. I'm not sure if there was an intended way to be able to do that and it wasn't clear, or if the jump was just not set correctly. Overall though it was pretty cool!

Nice game, the music and art were solid. The controls felt a little clunky and I also did not see how it fit the theme at all.

I like the art, and the mechanic of moving one tile at a time. Some of the hitboxes on the traps were a little weird but overall I had fun!

If you have time, please play and rate my game :)

Very unique art style, I like it because it is very stylized. I did feel like the core gameplay loop was a little uninteresting though. Great job!

nice job! cool game concept of the platforms that disappear when you bounce off of them and the longer you fall the higher you bounce. The music was pretty cool too! The only thing I would say is the level design could probably use some work, I thought there were too many platforms to jump on making some of the levels not feel very challenging,  but it is a jam game so I'm sure if you had more time there would be a little bit more variety in the levels with maybe the addition of additional mechanics introduced over time. Overall great game!

Love the game! My favorite thing by far was the art. I think you did an amazing job! The game feel was good, but there was nothing that really made it stand out too much. I liked the level design, challenging but short that I could complete the level after a few tries usually. I completed the whole game and did not see any bugs whatsoever so great job!

Great artstyle and sound effects but thought it was rather challenging upfront. Maybe if the waves started off lighter to give you time to get used to the controls that would be good. I also thought there was a little too much screen shake and it was kind of distracting. Maybe just tone it down a bit. Great game!
