Ranked from 9 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

Themes
I used the "Peaceful" theme, I wanted to incorporate the "All Systems Have Broken" theme with the story but I could not write a story for the game in the end. I also thought about using the "Frick Around And Find Out" but ended up giving hints to the player, maybe next time!

Tools
Godot Engine, GIMP, Audacity.

Lessons
I'm still bad at time management :D

Really fun and nice game, would've loved if the movement of the camera didn't move when i just moved my cursor but to actually have more control over it, but other than that, quite a fun game!

Thank you, I am glad you liked it! I will change the camera behavior in the updated version, thanks for the feedback!

Bloody hell! All this in 14 days!

The only thing that stopped me falling in love was the scrolling when the mouse points gets close to the edge. I kept losing my place every time I moved the mouse away to look at the situation or check another app, and I wish it had just been mapped to WASD.

But even then, this is still by far one of my favourites in the jam. Bloody well done!

Thank yo so much, it really means a lot to me! :) And thanks for the feedback, I will change the scrolling in the updated version.

I loved your game too, it was my favorite I played in the jam with all the little details and mechanics, congrats for the 11th place!

This was a fun factory builder! It reminds me a lot of Shapez.

I think that everything fit nicely inside of the resolution. I think it would've been nice to zoom out a bit to see a broader view of the factory.

( Unfortunately, I wasn't able to complete it because of the merger bug you mentioned in the description :( )

Developer

Thank you, I am glad you liked it! Shapez and Factorio were a huge influence on it.

I tried to do a zoom out but it lead to a few issues with the cursor and building placement so I dropped it, maybe I'll make one version with bigger resolution, I'm not sure, but thanks for the comment!

Oof, the bug... I have uploaded a fixed version here if you'd like to give it another go (I will keep the jam version as it is): https://gheja.itch.io/boxez-latest

Very well implemented. I like the progression system, it let's you explore at your own pace. It's possible to mess yourself up when a later part's of the system intersects with an earlier area, but it's fun to fix that sort of problems. The cute little intro cinematic was nice. Cool music too. Great work!

Developer

Thank you, I'm happy you liked it.  I tried to guide the player to have a smaller chance of old and new parts interfering but wanted to make sure the old parts are still needed and also that there's plenty of space for them. Fixing old spaghetti is kind of the fun part - for a while at least but this is not a long game after all :)

wow I cannot believe you implemented a full automatin / factory game as part of this jam. I'm a huge fan of shapez (btw shapez 2 just came out, I'm spending my weekend playing that!!) and this really hit home for me. I'm so impressed by how well this works in a 64x64 grid. The polish was top notch, I love how you help guide the player through the various factory elements as they get unlocked. The music was very soothing and it was just super fun to play through this. You must have spent a ton of time building this, it's very impressive. Fantastic job!

Thank you so much for the kind words, it really means a lot to me! I am very happy you enjoyed it and I loved your game, too!

(I'm also playing Shapez 2 on the weekend, I have to, it's... research :D)
