Well now I look like a fool... I honestly thought our art was original until I saw this comment on itch today, which linked to your reddit post dating a few months after our game was published. Since we had everything open sourced, I assumed that the art had been copied in other areas - but clearly it seems the other way around... :(

I'll work with the artist to change it

We created the game 1.5 years ago for the jam, the sprite has been available on GitHub alongside the rest of the open source code at that time - the reddit post is 8 months old and the redditor pretends not knowing anything about Merlin... Guess who is plagiarizing who....

thank you so much, so glad you liked the game! :)

It looks like someone else reported something similar :( I think I have a bug with how I transition states. Thanks for reporting!

No worries! I enjoyed the time I spent on it! I'm a sudoku/numbers game fan so it was relaxing to just see everything properly align as I made progress. It's be great to fix the code to provide the rewarding moment of completion! Cheers

Thank you so much for the kind words! <3 Glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you so much for playing! I would have loved to address the enemies in your back, either through a back attack or by throwing enemies on the other side :) We ran out of time but hope to do it for a post-jam version!

Thank you so much for the kind words, it means a lot! :)

very fun and challenging, I really like the betting aspect of it, and there's definitely a ton of pressure mounting up as the seconds tick by towards the end. Great game!

Fantastic game all around, great build up with the tutorial, really fun gameplay both challenging and rewarding. Great soundtrack, lovely sense of impact / juice on every hit. This was really one of the best entries of this jam, well done!

haha thanks! guess what game I purchased yesterday as a result of playing your game? :)

Thank you so much, this means a lot! <3

Thanks so much for the kind words, thrilled you enjoyed playing it!

Well that's a NES reference that doesn't get brought up often!! (as well as the quarters lol!) Yes I spent hundreds of hours with Billy and Jimmy Lee when I was young, I guess they still live in me somewhere lol :D

Thanks for playing!

I think in a typical game, we would have provided the player with a limited but generous number of lives to start with. For a jam entry, where I don't expect people to restart anything, losing a life costs you 1000 points, while every HP at the end of the level (27HP max) gives you an extra 40 points per HP. Doing combos also provides bonus points on top of the enemies that you beat. So overall in this jam, the life system just impacts the score. It's pretty difficult to get above 5K points.

Thanks soo much for playing through it!

you've got such an awesome ear to notice this! and you're absolutely right that they're not in the same key, it creates a dissonance when it plays. I had never noticed it before you mention it, most likely because during all the playthroughs I ended up turning the music off as it had become very repetitive. I'll fix this, thank you!!

thanks so much for playing the game, glad you enjoyed it!

thanks so much, glad you liked it!

thanks so much for reporting, I'll see if I can repro on my end

I cannot believe you guys did this in just 12 hours! This is so freaking fun! I just loved getting some of those precise shots in, it was so satisfying! It's rare to see a 3d game with this resolution that works well, here the concept is simple but super well executed. The music is perfect (did you make this? it's so good, it reminded me of when I was playing the original Sid Meier's Pirates!) The only downside I saw was the game was a bit monotonous but if you spend a bit more time, this could be such a fun game, especially on mobile since you don't need a ton of controls. Great job!!

wow I cannot believe you implemented a full automatin / factory game as part of this jam. I'm a huge fan of shapez (btw shapez 2 just came out, I'm spending my weekend playing that!!) and this really hit home for me. I'm so impressed by how well this works in a 64x64 grid. The polish was top notch, I love how you help guide the player through the various factory elements as they get unlocked. The music was very soothing and it was just super fun to play through this. You must have spent a ton of time building this, it's very impressive. Fantastic job!

really great puzzle game, the premise is simple and yet each level was a real challenge for me. The music was a huge treat, did you make that youself? It was fantastic and perfect for this game, kept me going in my thinking mood.

btw at first I thought I was collecting music notes lol until I realized those were keys.

the only thing I would add is the ability to quickly reset a level rather than have the player trace back each step, but it was definitely not a game blocker for me.

great job!

I'm a huge fan of the mobile game Planes Control and I never thought about how to make it more of a turn-based game but it makes so much sense and it works so well! Love the polish on this, especially given it was made in PICO-8. The camera works wonders, the polish in the transitions / animations is fantastic and overall the gameplay is just super fun! Really great job, you should post this on the lexaloffle website if you haven't done so already! BTW did you ever try Picotron?

oh man I started thinking: welp there goes another pacman clone! oh boy was I wrong!!! that was such a cool experience, I loved the ability to be the monster, the tutorial was a really fun way to introduce the player to the gameplay. The final boss and last cutscene were great! I'm also super impressed you did this in Construct! The music works great, it reminds me of E1M1 which is probably the vibe you were going for. Overall well executed, great job!

really fun game, lovely graphics, a very fitting soundtrack, even catching the various fish was a fun challenge. I was hoping to keep the shark as a friend, I guess after beating the game I can always keep "some" of the shark (see what I did there?) The entire gameplay was very polished, I enjoyed playing this a lot, great job!

I was following your progress on discord and was really excited to try this! It's too bad you didn't get enough time to finish it, but I really hope you find the time after the jam is over. I find the premise of guiding missiles to destroy convoys etc really fun to play, and it surprisingly works really well with a 64x64 resolution. Let me know if you make something bigger out of this, I'd love to play it!

really fun game - very simple but super effective mechanic, constantly having to balance upgrade / health vs damage. It'd be awesome to know ahead of time what the next wave will be composed of. I really started hating myself for missing my shots as it became more and more risky to do so. I played a good 20 min and I'm still not sure what the best balance is. Curious if all the levels are generated on the fly?

in any case, with a bit of music, this would be a really great game on mobile!

really fun climbing to the top, loved the additional abilities along the way. As others have pointed out, combat wasn't its strong suit, but once I started just avoiding enemies rather than trying to kill them it became a lot more satisfying (love the fact that they will die on spikes as well!) Really great level design, I can see you spent a lot of time designing everything carefully. It would have been great to have a bit of music as well, but the rest is well executed. Great job!

really fun little platformer, loved the items you get at the end of each level and how they affect your next playthrough, it reminded me a bit of rogue legacy in that regard. Graphics were really nice, and the music was fun and upbeat. Some of those jumps were a bit tricky to make, I wish there was a bit more visual indicator to where the hitboxes are so I don't die trying to be a hero. Great job!

For some reason this game reminded me of myself the last time I went camping and was trying to kill the mosquitos hovering over my head lol! I have to say that at first, I was skeptical of what I was about to play, but very quickly became impressed by the depth of the world, the enemies, the level design (thank you for the checkpoints...) and the bosses! The music was absolutely fantastic and really added a ton to the atmosphere. Overall a really fun game to play!

that's unfortunate, I thought I had completed this one, but I can't seem to get the stripes in the right order. I got the sudoku, then in order 1,2,3,4s in row top right and columns bottom left, the rest was empty, yet it didn't do anything. was there a specific order I was supposed to follow for the rows and columns?

Oh no... If you were able to play it halfway through, I agree it's most likely a bug rather than a browser / os issue :( ive never seen it but I know my animations can be out of sync with the character states, so I'm not surprised by what you're mentioning unfortunately... Well if you give it another go, you'll get a special medal 🏅:)

For some reason this game reminded me of Tetris where I would wait for the perfect 4-block line to complete a Tetris, similarly here I would keep placeholders where I was hoping for the perfect 4 edge color combination to score a huge chunk of points at the same time.

Really fun concept, I won't go further into the visual issues already provided by the other comments. I love the vibe that I got from playing this. No time rush, just plain old fields with beautiful guitar chords to celebrate what I'm planting. I loved the details in the sounds (the birds, flies, etc), some of the visual details like the clouds etc that just add on to the game.

I think if you fix the visual, you could take this concept quite a bit further. Ideally you remove the RNG completely so it becomes purely strategy.

Loved to play, great job!

thanks so much for playing through it!

so glad you liked it!

Thanks so much! I'm excited to try out your game!

Yep, that's exactly what I should be doing. Currently a lot of those animations are forced to complete before transitioning the player state, and it actually makes the controls feel sticky and unresponsive. It'll be a good fix for the post-jam version!

Thanks so much for playing!

Yeah I think the main issue is with Unity's animation controller which created some buffering between what was happening on screen and the inputs entered by the player. I'll take some time to rework that part, it's definitely noticeable when you smash the buttons quickly.

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed playing through it!

Thank you so much! <3
