Nice game! The controls are a bit uncomfortable but the game is really fun to play! Trying to play as fast as possible is really fun, and the artstyle is really nice and minimal. The different types of platforms are a bit confusing to see when going fast, but overall a really really fun game, well done!

Thanks! What would you change about the controls to make them more comfortable? The original plan was that the platforms would have different art (it was gonna be 8x8 monochrome pixel art) but I ran out of time, so that probably would have helped with distinguishing the types.

I think the main thing would be mapping jump to another button like space? I did just realise that arrow keys were an option, and playing with them feel much better. I think some nice controller controls would be really great too!

Developer(+1)

Oh yeah, adding space is easy. I will look into the controller controls, that’s definitely a good suggestion. Thanks for the feedback!

Pretty cool take on classic control mechanics! Love the minimalist art style too, really fits in well with the overall design c:

Developer

Thank you! Although I didn’t end up going with my planned art, I am happy with how the last minute art looks.

The movement is really cool, but I couldn't tell if I was progressing or not? That may be the idea for this version tho

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! There should be a white bar on the left side that indicates how far through the map you are.

The idea is cool, though the effects are very confusing

Developer

Do you mean the different types of platforms?

The controls are smooth and the concept is very nice!

I'm a fan of the minimal art style! I had a surprising amount of success mashing W and Shift to dig my way upward through levels, lol.

Developer

Thanks, I enjoy how simple it ended up! I was hoping to add some enemies or something like that to give it a bit more strategy but ran out of time. For me and all of my play testers it was just fun to try to cruise up as fast as possible though haha

Very interesting movement mechanics! It was weird that I didn't quite know how I was controlling the character, yet it still felt cool to move around the map. Nice work given your limited time working on it!

Developer

Thank you! I will definitely be continuing development regardless of how this turns out, I think the concept has a lot of potential. Is there anything you would change about the movement?

physics feel really nice :D and i really like the art despite how simple it is, the 2 colours with the snow/rain/particles/whatever feels really nice

Thanks! My spritesheet is also monotone (and 8x8 to make it faster to create, but I'll probably upgrade to 16x16 if I continue development of the game), if I had a few extra hours it would have looked much nicer haha. Glad to hear the particles add to the game, they were a last minute addition to make it feel more polished.
