Monsters in a dungeon! Nice job! Here are some thoughts I had while reading:

  • Good, clear intro. Only thing I might add is how am I mechanically going to do the narrative. Dice or whatever?
  • The biggest thing this need is layout. Cause I can tell you have a lot of good stuff here but trying to parse it now is very difficult.
  • You built out a ton of unique strengths and weaknesses! I like that you choose which ones you want. Memories are also a nice aspect of character creation.
  • I like that you have a d4 system cause the caltrop is under-used. The trading up for dice is interesting. And I don't mind the 1 fail, 2-5 mixed success, and 6+ success... actually pretty easy.
  • Hidden and Evading were a bit confusing.
  • You need clearer nomenclature for PCs & NPCs. Especially regarding NPCs, I often wasn't sure if it was a Hero or NPC Monster.
  • All of your tables are nice... and there sure are a lot!
  •  I would love to see a section about the Dark Lord, specifically how whatever he is doing is affecting the timeline and why the adventurers are there

I haven't had time to read this fully so I'm not going to rate it just yet, but I really like the concept and the mechanics (especially the memory mechanic), so I'll give it another read tonight. I had a fairly similar idea (although not nearly as good: mine was "OD&D but in reverse") so you already have a sympathetic reviewer! Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, you nailed it! My only critique would be with the formatting:  a clearer heading hierarchy would have enabled you to get more reviews:, and I'm sure if people read it they'd see that this is actually a fucking awesome game.

"Sharks, Somehow" is an excellent trap.
